Go further in the temple ruins

Aware he was being hunted, Korak stuck low to the ground, hoping to devise an escape route. His keen peripheral vision caught the glint of sunlight off an object in the bushes--another crossbow! As the weapon fired its dart, Korak's jungle reflexes allowed him to spring backward in a long arc, twisting his body as he leapt to avoid the crossbow bolt.

Korak successfully avoided the hidden crossbow trap, but as he landed, he felt his ankle snap another nearly invisible tripwire running low across the ground. In an instant, the grass and leaves underneath Korak's feet were pulled out from under him, and upward... another hidden cargo net trap!!

The triggered net drew tight around the ambushed ape man, and hoisted him about eight feet into the air. THHPP!! THHPP!! Korak heard hidden launchers fire two lengths of steel cable into the air, whirling past the hoisted cargo net and wrapping around it. Each steel cable sliced through the air, encircling the captive jungle king in the net, circling his body in different directions.

The cables bound their captive instantly, before he could orient himself or pull free of the heavy netting. One cable whirled around Korak's legs and feet, pinning them together, as the second cable encircled his arms and chest, pinning his hands at his sides. THHPP THHPP!!! The cables wound around his body several times, then the ends of the cables entwined and knotted with each other, tightening themselves into an escape-proof meshwork around Korak's struggling body.

Korak grunted and thrashed as in an instant, he was netted and cable-bound. He flexed his mighty muscles but neither the cargo net or steel cables seemed to give or slacken, and being hoisted off his feet deprived him of much needed leverage. He wasn't sure who had laid these traps so keenly, but the hunter couldn't be far off. Korak realized he may only have precious seconds to work himself free before the mysterious trapper would arrive to collect his quarry...

The mysterious figure hidden in the shadows watched through the high powered binoculars as the ape man fell for the trap. The person smiled as Korak was trapped in the net.

"The prince of the jungle is caught, my employers will be pleased." the person thought with a satisfied laugh.

Then slowly the person stood up and begon to calmly walk towards the captured prey.

Korak flexed and squirmed his body hard against the cables that kept him trapped.

He used all his power in his muscular body but the steel cables were not giving an inch.

The first cable was encircled around his legs and ankles and the second was wrapped around his upperbody and kept his wrists and arms tightly pressed against his sides.

Despite his powerfull body he was not able to get any slack in the cables and the net that bound him.

His struggles only resulted in him tiring himself as the cables were holding him secure.

He stopped his struggling as he started to feel helpless.

Wrapped in the net he felt like a fly trapped in a web waiting for the hungry spider.

He had never felt this helpless before in his life.

Whoever had planted these traps must be both highly skilled and knowledgeable.

He had never encountered anything like this before.

Frustrated he looked around and suddenly noticed something moving.

Korak turned his head to the right and noticed a person calmly walking down the hill towards him.

Because of his hanging position Korak could only look at the person from the corner of his eyes.

The spider is comming to inspect the fly, Korak thought as he noticed the calm pace of the person.

The hunter walked like all the time of the world was available for this moment.

The person stopped and Korak could now take a better look at the person.

His captor was wearing a wide green cape covering most of the body and comming to the knees.

The head of the mysterious hunter was hidden beneath a dark hood, which hid the face of the person in the shadow.

Korak was unable to see if the person was male or female.

He noticed that the person wore a belt with various equipment attached to it.

Korak noticed a small gun, a hunting knife and what looked like various syringes.

In what seemed like a eternity the person stood there and just looked up at Korak who was hanging there wrapped up in the cargo net and the steel cables.

"Who are you?" Korak said.

The person simply ignored him and slowly stepped to the right and left, seemingly inspecting the captured ape man.

Korak tried to look defiant but could not help feeling afraid.

Who was this person? What will happen to me? he thought as the questions raced through his mind.

After what felt like an eternity the person slowly reached for a piece of equipment hanging from the belt.

To his schock Korak recognized the item as a blowdart used by tribal hunters.

This confused Korak even more as he would suspect someone who used high tech traps would not use a blowdart.

Slowly the person put the blowpipe to its mouth and aimed carefully.

Korak tugged at the cables but knew there was nothing he could do.

The person seemed to enjoy the frustration of the Jungle boy.

Then the person fired the blowpipe and the dart hit Korak straight in his chest.

Korak winched in pain as he looked down and noticed the dart was stuck in right pectoral muscle just below his nipple.

He started to feel a numbing feeling in his chest which quickly expanded to his arms and legs.

Korak tried to stay awake as best as he could but the sedative was slowly taking control of him.

His body went numb and his vision started to blur.

He looked down at the mysterious hunter that watched motionless at his futile struggle against the sedative.

"What will happen to me?" Korak thought and then he passed out.
