Constructive Criticism

If the stories you've heard are to be believed, these women usually don't take well to any kind of defiance. Still, you look into Ceilidh's smiling face and can't help but wonder if she wouldn't prefer something helpful. Especially if you want a chance to talk a bit with her.. Dig a little further. You're less sure that Tony has exaggerated his stories than you were ten minutes ago, but still..

"I think it looks alright, but it's still pretty obvious that you don't have a graphic designer." You say, paying close attention to Ceilidh's face. For a moment you swear you see something strange flare up in her eye, but then she does this cute little head tilt.

"How did you know?"

"Well, I don't know a lot about it, but the spacing on the front page is a bit weird, the photos could do with a bit more editing and I'm not sure about the typeface either." You scratch the back of your neck, "plus the staff page confirmed it."

She has been looking at you at attentively, but now she giggles.

"Oops." She says, "busted." She quickly places the magazine back into onto the rack before she continues:

"Yeah we usually have a design student that does those, but she's away on an internship for six months, so I've had to do all the graphic stuff myself. I was hoping it wasn't too obvious, but I guess not.." Ceilidh doesn't look like a woman who does much brooding though, because quickly the smile is back on her face, this time even more crafty.

"Look, do you have anywhere you need to be?" She asks, stepping closer to you. The puppy-dog eyes now directed at you lose a bit effect to the fact that she's almost as tall as you, "..Because I have the next 2 issues back on my computer and I'd really appreciate some.. input."

There is subtle hints, there is obvious hint and then there is this. Still you'd rather not end up on the front page of V I S I T O R S any time soon, but no risk no reward.
