Confessions.

"I can't believe in a couple of months you'll finally be a mother!" Catherine smiled at Samantha.

"And six more months for you," Sam reminded Emma, rubbing her friend's slight baby bump. "Enjoy your flat stomach while you can."

"After two years of trying, I'm enjoying every minute of being pregnant!" Emma replied. "Even the morning sickness!"

"I wish we could have a baby," Susan sighed, staring at my wife's big belly carrying our unborn child.

"Me too," Catherine nodded.

"I wish I could be a mother," Selina added.

It looked like all of the baby talk and biological clocks ticking louder let Emma's friends open up about their maternal desires.

"Robert and I were planning to have a family but his cancer..." Selina sighed, looking down at her hands on her lap.

"I didn't know..." my wife whispered, comforting her friend with a warm hug.

"Since we're confessing," Catherine said after giving Selina a hug, "I had a miscarriage when I was divorcing my cheating ex-husband."

Selina, Susan, and Deborah gasped at the revelation.

"I'm sorry, we're suppose to celebrate Emma's pregnancy," Catherine sniffed, wiping her tears.

"It's okay, honey," Emma replied as she stood up and opened her arms to invite everyone for a group hug.

"I guess we're the last to confess -- Susan and I have something more upbeat to tell everyone," Deborah announced as she held her partner's hand. "We decided to have a baby."

"You're going to use a sperm bank?" Catherine asked.

"Not exactly," Deborah replied, as she and Susan looked at each other for a moment.

"Emma suggested Bill could donate," Susan added.

"But I thought Bill had low sperm count?" Selina asked.

I wondered if Emma was going to reveal that I was actually the father.

Emma glanced over to Sam before answering, "He does but we lucked out."

"What about Mike?" Catherine turned to my wife.

"What about him?" Sam was caught off guard by the question.

"Is he willing to donate?" Susan asked.

"Are you okay with if we use his sperm?" Selina inquired.
