Comments on Episode 7

Fortunately the Sicilian version of the certain organisation that dominates Southern Italy left us alone in Palermo, which was a pleasant surprise. I can only assume it was out of respect for Monica or maybe Jason had made some more ‘friends’. It seemed to me we had quite a lot of story to get through so I thought we would start with a scene that was inspired by a mediaeval depiction of a bath-house I had seen.

There were 5 separate tubs with the occupants seemingly enjoying themselves but I did not want any of those annoying partitions blocking the view. Jacqui was able to coach the various participants, but Aria came to me with a special suggestion. Of course her idea was that she would do the foot fucking and suggested Kate as having the capacity to take it on. I told her in no uncertain terms that she would have to be the receiver. I will confess to being a bit scared of Christina, not of her temper and certainly not physically, but that she might leave in a huff, so with Hayley having the next smallest feet she became first choice. So the scene came and all of my Brigata were having sex of sorts in a confined space. Hayley and Aria had practised and it showed. The female antagonist, played to perfection by Monica, intrigued me a great deal. Was she wealthy or not? It was implied that she is over ostentatious but that she probably does not own a string of estates. However she has such easy access to 1500 florins that it makes me wonder. I have no doubt she sells her body and absolutely certain that she hires out her slaves, if indeed they are her slaves. Most likely she is wheeler dealer by day and a madam in the evening and a professional lover at night. Certainly she has a reputation in Palermo.

It is difficult to describe just what an incredible woman Monica is. She has been stripping off in movies since she was 18, but always in art house. The world was familiar with her parts, but perhaps what was attached to them was more important. No-one could do sensual quite like her. Her voice was familiar in adverts around the world, her acting and business sense unquestioned, and was totally at home with the great and the good. It was very easy to worship her and I really envied Elio.

I was proud to come up with the English version of the rhyme myself. The Brigata were certainly promoting the superiority of wit of the Tuscans, particularly if money was involved, and it is hardly a secret that the Florentines became Europe’s greatest bankers. The final lingering shots reminded me of my opening to ‘Pride and Prejudice’ with all those lovely dripping wet Bennet sisters.
