Although the character is similar in age to the younger girls, Eva was the obvious choice to play the princess being tall with a medium sized bust, pale skin and angelic blonde hair. Hopefully it was early enough in the series so viewers would not immediately recognise the deception.

It is an atypical tale because of the early concentration on the subplot of the brothers before the real story gets going, but that did allow us to up the sexual content greatly, which contrasted quite a bit from the pure love of the 2 main characters. The reverse golden showers served 2 purposes: to show the activity was mutual and not aimed at humiliating one particular gender; to show something a bit different.

This episode was seen as much less controversial with many people enjoying the relationship between the abbot and the money lender. The feedback was that a lot of the audience did not really care to see golden showers. I said I could not promise an end to the peeing (primarily because I always enjoyed the site of fluids leaving a women’s body) but any scene of a similar nature would need to be justified.

A final note about lighting: we had been avoiding scenes in the dark because ‘explicit’ usually requires seeing the act in detail. Sex at night would require many oil lamps and/or candles which are a pain in the neck, so letting the light supposedly flood in through the windows was a much easier solution.
