Comfort and celebrity

You’re awakened in the morning by Maya giggling and whispering in your ear. “Well, it looks like someone got comfortable and slept in…”

You open your eyes and see the half-dragon laying beside you, smiling. Looking down at yourself, you see Hana start to stir, her body reverting to its normal form. She looks up at you and smiles, then lays her head back onto your chest. “I haven’t slept that well in weeks. Thank you so much.”

Maya grins. “It sounded like it wasn’t just the sleep you enjoyed, Hana…”

Hana giggles. “Oh…I was a bit loud, wasn’t I? S-sorry, it was just…really good…”

You chuckle, gently rubbing her soft back. “Maya is just teasing. You don’t need to be shy about that sort of thing with us, we’re all pretty open.”

Maya nods. “I’m glad you’re happy, Hana. I want you to feel comfortable around us, so just say something if someone makes you uncomfortable.”

Hana smiles as she climbs off you. “You’re all so nice…I can’t believe this happened. You know that Josh is already becoming somewhat of a legend among monster girl communities? The hero trying to create a paradise for all. And Maya, you’re famous too, everyone thinks of you as Josh’s queen.”

Maya laughs. “I am! We’re all equals here, but I’m the best!”

You give Maya a playful shove. “You know you only get away with saying that when Anna isn’t around.”

Maya laughs, and Hana giggles. “All of these girls are celebrities now, is what I’m saying. I’m surprised that all of you don’t have girls throwing themselves at you.”

You shrug. “We’ve been a bit busy. I imagine it’ll be more noticeable now that we’re staying in the capital to prepare for the campaign against the demon lord.”

Maya grins. “Just remember, my Josh, no adding to the family without asking the rest of us!”

Chuckling, you nod. “Of course. You know I don’t normally pick up random girls in the street.”

Both girls laugh, and Hana winks. “So I was a special case, then?”

You groan, realizing that was exactly how you met her. “That was different!”

Maya shakes her head. “Nope, you’re busted, daddy!”

You groan, laughing despite yourself. “Remind me to yell at Elys for starting that.”

“You love it and you know it!”

Hana giggles. “You two are adorable! I can’t wait to meet everyone else.”

You nod. “Speaking of which, we should really get going. Even a celebrity king can’t spend all day lazing in the woods.”

The three of you get up, and you get dressed. Time to get back to the capital.
