College Professor teaches Freshman
Monday morning after a three-day weekend is always a drag, but this particular day was so long I found myself nodding off at my desk. The class was taking a test, freshman biology, so my day was filled with sitting silently watching students write answers on a test that neither they nor I cared about whatsoever.
Then I found the stone.
When I pulled open my desk drawer to grab one of the packs of Doritos I keep there as a snack, sitting on top of everything was a perfectly round, flattened stone. The kind of disc shape that would be perfect for skipping rocks.
When I touched it, I immediately understood everything about the power I now had. I was overwhelmed with possibility. I slid the stone into my pocket, and immediately crossed my fingers. I felt energy surging through them, and I saw a blue tint overtake my vision.
I uncrossed my fingers, and waited for the class to end. My next hour was conference, and the cogs were already turning in my mind.
