Coffee Date with Evelyn

In the afternoon, Spencer found himself working on a freelance assignment when his phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey, it's me." Evelyn said.

"Oh, hey Evelyn. How's your day been?"

"All quiet out on the frontier."

"Good to hear."

"Say, would you want to catch up for coffee before picking the kids up?"

"Sure. Now?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. See you then."

"See you."

In a hurry, Spencer rushed to his SUV and drove straight to the Corner Coffee House, where Evelyn had somehow made it before him. She'd also changed out of her uniform and into a pair of casual yoga pants and band t-shirt. He sat down with her, noticing a few of the mothers looking at the couple causing Spencer to think of Clay's remark: 'The **** Housewives of Avonwick'.

"Hey Spence." Evelyn said.

"How are you?"

"Pretty good. You get up to much?"

"Well I had another cute coffee date?"

"Really?"

"Your ex wanted to talk."

"Oh." Evelyn laughed. "Surprised he didn't take you to McClaren's for a beer."

"Same."

"Well don't worry about him. We're at peace and all that. That is unless he starts talking you for more cute coffee dates?"

"I won't make it a habit then."

"So anything else exciting happen today?"

"Not really."

"Just another day enjoying the retired life?"

"I guess."

Evelyn looked around, seeing Loren, one of the mothers glancing at her.

"Think they're a little jealous?" Spencer said.

"Well they've been after you for two or so years."

"And now you've got your man."

Evelyn flashed a smile, as she realized that she had managed to get Avonwick's most eligible bachelor. All the mom's fantasy man had become her reality, in spite of her baggy eyes and messy bun.

Spencer finished his coffee, to which he said "Shall we get going?"

"I suppose so."

The two stand up, and Spencer puts down the money, without Evelyn noticing she hadn't contributed. She was too busy grabbing Spencer's hand, making sure everyone of the **** housewives of Avonwick knew who Spencer now belonged to. After they left the door, she turned to Spencer and gave him a deep kiss, as her hands braved squeezing on his ass. After the kiss, Spencer chuckled and said "See you at school Evelyn."

"See you then."

Evelyn walked to her car with a confident stride, and an even more confident grin.
