Clothes!

"Okay, John! First and foremost, I need me some clothes that WEREN'T picked out by a stalking Prinny!" Etna declared, pointing forward in a dramatic fashion. She was sitting in the passenger's seat, buckled in all nice and safe (because it's the law, kids. Remember that).

I stared at her blankly a moment before backing out of my driveway, which was the exact opposite of the direction her finger was pointing. "I'm not going to drive into the side of my house," I told her. "...and the mall isn't even in that direction." Etna lowered her arm, grumbling. Apparently she didn't like her dramatic moments ruined. That sounded like her.

Given Etna's attention span, it didn't surprise me when she started to fidget in the seat. She turned on the radio and started fiddling with the stations I had on pre-set. "...that's crap. Crap. Commerical. Way too slow. Aah, Gospel music! It burns!" ...I made a note to cut down on her sugar intake.

Finally we pulled up to the mall. Etna puffed her chest out, wings flapping as she got out of the car. "You smell that, John? That's the smell of commercial sucess," she declared. I quirked an eyebrow at her in response to that statement. Honestly, what do you say to that?

Noticing my expression, Etna sighed, starting for the mall's entrance. "In the Netherworld, money is everything. ...and I lost all my money coming to the human world...good thing I found something I like better," she said, winking at me as her tail looped around my wrist. "Places like this remind me of home," she went on. "Money in, money out...every where you go, the chinging of cash registers..."

Well, if I ever wanted to make extra money, I knew someone who would be eager to do so. Now...what kind of clothes would she want? I picture her in sort of a...Hot Topic sort of gal. But she seemed to deight in surprising me.
