Chapter 12 by agenteightysix agenteightysix

What do you do now, separated from your friends?

Climb back up the slope

The first thing you think of is to climb straight back up where you fell. Not only is that the most direct path back to your friends, but you might also find your top which was robbed from you by a stray branch.

You quickly start making your way back up the slope, but the shallow climb soon grows steeper and steeper. You have trouble finding good footing as your boots simply slip in the loose dirt. You even try grabbing on to some rocks or well-placed branches but to no avail. Even when you can get a good grip on them, you don't have the upper body strength to pull yourself up.

Having accomplished nothing more than tiring yourself out, you carefully slide back down the slope, finding yourself slightly more tired and back to the bank of the stream exactly where you started.

What do you try next?
