Clearing the dungeon!

“Wait a minute you two,” John called out at the retreating backs of Moira and Moonstone. Both of them turned back towards him.

‘Really, what was your first clue,’ John thought at his interface before he brought his attention back to the two lethal beauties before him. “It would probably be easier if we were all in a party, wouldn’t you agree?” John suggested while working the interface to send the two of them a party invite, “Just click accept.”

The two girls look incredulously at each other when they got the pop-ups to join the Escape Party, but press accept they did. “Anything else?” Moira asked condescendingly, and when John shook his head, she turned and began leading the way again. Moonstone, however, waited for John to catch up before she fell into step beside him.

“You know, your power is unheard of,” Moonstone began, a bit awkwardly, “There are a lot of people that are going to want to study it, and you, so that they can use your power for their own gain.” John looked at her out of the corner of his eye. He hadn’t had any classes with the tall Irish girl as she was two years his senior, but he had heard about her legendary temper. “So, you are going to join my clan,” Moonstone declared regally. John’s jaw hit the floor at the audaciousness of the statement and was about to say something to decline, he looked at her. Her eyes were filled with the fires of war as she silently dared him to say something, ice forming around one of her fists. “O-okay,” John stammered.

While they walked through the barrier, John took the time to drick down one of the health potions he had obtained, and was surprised to see that it returned him to full health, not that he had much to begin with.

“Give me a break, okay?” John said out loud, drawing the attention of the girls, who looked back at him, Moira with a hint of contempt and embarrassment, and Moonstone with laughter about to boil out of her.

John wisely kept his mouth shut and shook his head. It seemed that Gaia clearly liked to play around with him and tease him. He followed behind his escorts, a little sullen, until they came across what looked to be another group of enemies. John quickly used Observe to get more information about them.

Trap Shrooms

This creature doesn’t deal damage on its own, instead it acts as a trap to keep enemies in place until the creature that planted it can come and deal with the captured prey.
Abilities:
Sleepytime Spore: The Trap Shroom releases a cloud of spores that if inhaled has a high chance to put their prey to sleep. Chance to be put to sleep increases the longer the Trap Shroom’s prey breathes in the spores.
Paralyzing Spore: The Trap Shroom has a small chance to instead release a cloud of spores that if inhaled have a moderate chance to paralyze their prey. Chance to become paralyzed increases with exposure.
Lust Spore: In addition to the the Sleepytime Spore or the Paralyzing Spore, the Trap Shroom has been known to release clouds of spores that cause debilitating levels of arousal in its prey, thus making them unable to fight.
Life Link: The Trap Spore’s life is directly linked with the thing that planted it, but does not share its HP with that creature or person.

John reached out to stop Moira from charging, as he was already too late to stop Moonstone. As his fingers touched the back of Moira, too late to stop her as well, he cast theft.

John stayed back as he watched the two warriors charge forward to destroy the Trap Shrooms. At the first strike by Moonstone the Trap Shrooms released a cloud of spores into the face of the women. At first there didn’t seem to be any difference with them, then John noticed that neither one of them were moving. John watched as the cloud of spore drifted around the two females but not much further away than that, meaning that he was safe for the time being.

‘I have to get them out of there before whatever planted that comes back,’ John thought to himself as he pondered a way to get the two ladies away from the Trap Shrooms' spores. As he thought the problem through, he noticed something crawling through the mushroom shaped heads of the Trap Shrooms. Instinctively, John used Observe on the creature.

Ur-Hydra

This Hydra was an early attempt at making an artificial hydra, and as such doesn’t have the same abilities that a Hydra would have.
Abilities:
Sleep Immunity: The creature is immune to magical and mundane induced sleep status.
Paralyze Immunity: This creature is immune to magically induced paralyze status.
Life Linked: This creature is linked with Trap Shrooms. If one dies the other does as well.
Heads: The Hydra only has two heads.
Status: Highly Aroused

John checked his stealth indicator as he crouched against a wall. When he saw that it said zero, he began a slow duck walk around the Ur-Hydra, trying to get behind it while he remained free of the cloud of spores.

Just before John reached the cloud of spores, he took a deep breath. Holding the breath, he crept forward, careful to check his indicator to make sure that the Ur-Hydra hadn’t spotted him. When he felt he was close enough, and his lungs were burning to take a breath, John used Observe again to try and find a weak spot.

He readied his dagger when he found a spot on the creature’s back, and jumped forward. As John leaped forward, the Ur-Hydra released a spray from its mouths that coated both of the ladies before it.
