Chapter 9 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What's next?

Class begins.

Marianne Henfel, a rather lovely young woman, sits comfortably in a room full of chatter and attentive eyes. Her mind is exactly where it should be--on the lesson, as well as on their new professor. She takes notice as the boy beside her has to readjust his pants after staring a little too closely. She can't exactly blame him, however. There's certainly something almost supernatural about the woman at the front of class. It's distracting.

Yet, no longer does she feel discomfort. Not in the same way, anyhow. She still feels flustered when she thinks about the always-gorgeous Ms. Adeline Chevalier, but now when she looks down at her opened book, the numbers make a little more sense. Everything does.

A nearby boy gestures her over to help him. Mari watches her hips sway, as does the boy presumably. He's attention is especially focused after he insists her look closer at his paper. When she does, she gazes down the cleavage of her dress--a very similar one she wore the day before. It frustrates Mari. It doesn't bother her that people are checking her out, but that's a little bit much.

"Hehehe. I don't know I still don't really understand," says the boy.

Adeline looks him over closely and stands back up straight. "Ah. I know. Please, come with me to the front of class. I'll show you on the board."

The boy freezes up. "Uhm. N-No, it's all right."

She peers down at him with a knowing gaze. "Is there a reason why you don't wish to stand?"

He can't respond. In an instant, she's disarmed him with words alone. There's an obvious answer to his question, though he'd rather not explain to a classroom full of students.

Meanwhile, Adeline turns her eyes to Mari. In fact, they've often done so. She didn't notice at first, but Adeline has been looking towards her more than anyone else. And now she does with a smile, as if to say, "It's only you," without any words needed. She makes her way back to the front and continues her lesson as if nothing had happened, leaving the boy rather flustered. Not long after, class ends with another bell.

Mari isn't late out the door this time. In fact, she's almost the first. She doesn't want to be late, after all. Not long after class she has something important to attend.

A date!

The end.
