Chapter 30

What does she choose?
Clarify
She didn’t hesitate long.
There wasn’t anything to hesitate about.
Will’s message had been genuine—confused, not hesitant, and definitely not disinterested. He’d been respectful from the start.
He was just trying not to assume.
And that? That made it easy.
Emily leaned back against the desk, her skin still bare, her breath still slow and deep from the adrenaline of the photo. The phone felt cool in her hand.
She typed:
Emily:
You told me I didn’t have to do it on Saturday.
And I believed you.
I meant it when I said thank you.
A short pause. Then:
Emily:
But I never said I wouldn’t do it.
She watched the blinking cursor, then added:
Emily:
That was Saturday.
Today is Thursday.
And I’ve had time to think.
About that night. About what it meant. About you.
She let the words hang.
Then finished:
Emily:
I didn’t send that photo because I felt like I owed you.
I sent it because I want to do this.
And I want it to be with you.
Send.
No games. No teasing.
Just the truth.

Ripe for the Taking
A new mom discovers she's never been more desirable—and temptation is everywhere.
At 27, Emily Davenport is a new mother adjusting to life after childbirth—a fading marriage, a body still healing, and a routine that leaves her feeling invisible. But as she steps back into the world—work, the gym, errands—she begins to notice it: the looks, the lingering stares, the heat behind every casual touch. Men are watching her. And one by one, they make their move. Ripe for the Taking follows Emily’s slow-burn descent into temptation, where every choice—whether to resist or surrender—leads her deeper into the thrill of being wanted again. Mother. Wife. Woman. Now, she has to choose who she really wants to be.
