Claire - A Friend of Jenn

Jenn’s heart skipped a beat as the locker room door creaked open. She yelped, clutching the tiny hand towel desperately against her hips, her T-shirt sticking to her torso.

“Jenn?”

She froze. There stood Claire, her longtime friend, holding a yoga mat, fully dressed and completely normal.

“Claire!” Jenn squeaked. “Hi! Uh…this…”

Claire raised an eyebrow, glancing at the barely-there towel. “Uh… why are you… like this?”

Jenn groaned. “It’s… not what it looks like!” The towel slipped slightly.

Claire smirked. “Really? Because it looks exactly like you just ran across the gym in your thong.”

Jenn buried her face in her hands. “Thirty-eight years old… and I just flashed half the gym.”

Claire laughed. “Wow. No pants, no hope, no backup plan. And I… don’t have anything to help you with. You’re on your own.”

Jenn blinked. “You… what?”

“I walked in. That’s all I’ve got. Moral support,” Claire said, still grinning.

Jenn pressed the tiny towel harder against her hips. “Fantastic. Just fantastic.”

Claire leaned back against the bench. “Well, at least I’m here to witness it. Could be worse…I could be filming.”

Jenn muttered, “You are not helping.”

She peeked up at Claire, sighing. “Alright… lead the way. Somehow.”

Claire laughed. “This is going to be a story for the ages.”
