"What the hell was that about? Cindi got up the second her mother stepped into the kitchen and knelt by Matt's chair.

"She... she peeked in while I was spanking Pam. She saw you with your pants down and me swatting Pam's ass."

Cindi's face twisted from horror to amusement to confusion. "But... why didn't she send you home?"

"I don't know."

Cindi thought for a second, her cute face going blank. "Got it. You know how Pam and Cai are always trying to one-up each other?"

"Yeah. I sort of picked that up."

"Well, Cai's mom and mom are too. If Cai's mom learns that Pam brought a fake boyfriend to a party, she will never let mom live it down. You know what that means?"

"Uh, that Pam had better have a boyfriend?"

"Exactly, and it had better be you... at least for the next couple of months. And you know what that means?"

"Yeah, that." She took a moment to deliver 'that.' "Also, that you can **** her. If you wanted to take me out on a date at midnight, she couldn't complain. I mean, she could be mean to me but she'd have to do what you said. Besides, you know what she said about being an independent woman?"

"It's bullshit. Any time a guy orders her around, she like caves. Except at work. At work, she's a monster. I'd hate to be an administrator at the hospital where she works."

Cindi looked at him. "But she's old."

"She's not old. And she's pretty."

Cindi sighed. "Fine. I'll help you with mom. But remember, I'm still first girlfriend. Okay."
