What's next?

Chun-Li vs. Mai Shiranui

"So you really wanna do this again, huh?" Mai asked, a playful smirk on her face. "Especially after the beating you took last time?"

Chun-Li rolled her eyes and scoffed. "In case you can't remember, I gave you far worse than you gave me. But I guess you wouldn't remember that, would you?"

"No, I remember things perfectly," Mai shot back, her smirk widening. "If Cammy & Yuri hadn't called the match a draw, I'd have had you on your knees, begging me for mercy."

"Ha! You'd like that, wouldn't you?!" Chun-Li shot back with a wry smile. "To have the strongest woman in the world on her knees in front of you, so you can do whatever you want with her..."

The comment got a giggle out of Mai. "Ha! The idea has crossed my mind," she admitted.

"Too bad, Mai. I'm not here to indulge your fantasies -- I'm here to beat you into the ground," Chun-Li said as she stretched her arms over her head. She and Mai then met face-to-face, bumping their chests together -- something of a ritual the two had before a match with each other.

"You ready?"

Mai smiled back at her. "Against you? Always." Without another word, she took her fighting stance, her fans closed and held in a reverse grip.

Chun-Li mirrored her, slipping into her own signature stance, legs spread, hands open and ready. "Let's go!"

The two women sprang into action, meeting in the center of the dojo with a resounding clash of limbs. Mai tried to connect with a series of elbow strikes, while Chun-Li countered with a series of kicks, blocking Mai's attacks with her shins. Their movements were a blur -- graceful yet powerful, with a rhythm and timing that only came with the training and discipline of master martial artists.

They broke apart, circling each other once more. Mai's chest heaved with exertion, her skin glistening with a thin sheen of sweat. Chun-Li was no different, her brow furrowed in concentration. Mai could feel her rival's gaze, hot and intense, eyeing her like a lioness stalking her prey.

"Y'know, I really have no idea how you fight with those things," Chun-LI remarked as she looked over Mai's breasts.

"You're one to talk," Mai quipped back, her own gaze drifting down to Chun-Li's famously powerful legs. "I get that those thighs could crush a man's skull, but I can't understand how you can even walk with all that power packed into them, let alone fight."

"Years of training, I guess," Chun-Li said with a casual shrug. "Which I suppose also explains how you can fight with a rack like that."

"Y'know, yours aren't exactly lacking in that department, either, Chun-Li," Mai shot back with a wry smile as she attempted to break Chun-Li's defense. "They may not be as big as mine, but they're certainly impressive in their own right."

Chun-Li blocked her attack with a swift parry, their forearms clashing. "I focus on power over size."

"Maybe. But I bet you don't know how to use them as a distraction like I do," Mai said as she ducked under Chun-Li's arm and swept her leg. "And you're clearly distracted right now."

Chun-Li barely managed to leap over the sweeping leg, landing in a crouch. "Like you're not distracted yourself. I see you eyeing my legs, you know..." she teased, a playful glint in her eyes as she sprang forward with a series of lightning-fast kicks.

Mai managed to deflect most of them, but one caught her in the shoulder, sending her stumbling back a step. "I won't lie, they're hard to ignore," she admitted, rubbing her shoulder. "Powerful, shapely... just like the rest of you."

Chun-Li blushed, a rare sight that made Mai's smile widen. "I appreciate the flattery. It's not going to help you win, but I appreciate it nonetheless. And, I'll admit... you're pretty spectacular yourself, Mai. Not quite the fighter I am, but still impressive."

"Wow, coming from you, that's high praise," Mai said, her smile softening into something genuine. "And I think we both know who's the better fighter here, but I'm glad you think I'm impressive."

"I think a lot of things about you, Mai," Chun-Li admitted, her gaze softening as well. "But you're still just a little bit below my level in a fight."

By this point, the two combatants were breathing heavily, chests rising and falling with each labored breath. They were clearly running out of steam, the earlier intensity of their fight now wearing on them. They stared at each other for a moment, contemplating their next moves.

"I hate to admit this, but I haven't been tested like this in a long time," Chun-Li confessed.

"Ditto," Mai admitted. "I haven't had a fight that's pushed me this hard since... well, since the last time we fought."

The two rivals relaxed their stances, now standing face-to-face, the charged atmosphere between them shifting from competitive to something else entirely. "You want to hit the onsen now? I think we've earned it..." Mai suggested.

Chun-Li quickly and eagerly agreed. "I hate to cut this fight short, but that sounds so much better right now than bruising each other senseless," she said with a sigh of relief. "But some day, we're going to settle who the queen of fighters really is."

Mai smiled, a genuine smile this time, not a cocky smirk. "Count on it."
