Chapter 3 by Smokeytaco12 Smokeytaco12

What's next?

Chipping Away at Stone.

The chances of being attacked and killed without your skills are too high should you delve deeper, making a split second decision you grab a small nearby stone, feeling it weigh heavily in your hand. You step forwards and bring the stone harshly on the crack in the wall. Initially there is no change but you repeat the action over and over for what feels like hours and when you stop to admire your work the little crack has grown to the size you can stick your hand through.

You focus yourself entirely on the task before you slowly but surely smashing away at the stone before you. Eventually the small stone you chose breaks, and you choose another to take its place. You continue until you have a hole big enough for you to fit your head through. Again and again you continue cracking away at the rock. Night never wavers but you're sure at this point that has been hours. Your exhaustion is beginning to really weigh on you. Maybe this choice was a mistake.

You take a deep breath and stand, having just rested you return once more to slowly chipping away at the stone escape path. Eventually it hits a size where you're confident you should be able to squeeze through. But something halts your attempt to do so. You look at the hole and there is a sense of dread looking at it, something tells you it is a touch too small. You look at the rock in your hand, and back at the wall.

What do you do next?
