Chicago, and it's snowing

"Thank you for choosing Gamma Air Lines for your flight today. This was flight 579 to O'Hare International Airport. The local time is 3:48 p.m., and the weather in Chicago is currently 28 degrees. As you can see from your windows it is snowing healthily. Please remain seated with your seatbelts fastened until the plane comes to a complete stop and the lights turn off. We hope you choose Gamma in the future, and welcome to Chicago!"

"Chicago?" Joanne asked as she saw the specks of white falling from the sky. "Sam, I thought you said we were going somewhere tropical!"

"Oh, no," Sam said, "I said we were going somewhere topical. My history project for senior year was urban development, and Chicago would be a great place to learn history!" Sam was lying through her teeth, of course, but Joanne didn't know that.

"Then why are we naked!?"

"You're not naked, see?" Sam said poking at Lacey's purple shirt plastic-dipped onto Joanne's chest and reaching to her belly button, "and besides, I told you security is much easier this way!"

"Okay, I don't know if we're dressed for the weather, though..."

"We can get our luggage when we get off."

As the plane stopped at the gate and the front of the plane stirred, the truth of Joanne's statement started to hit Sam. The plane was still somewhat climate controlled, but the chills of the Windy City hit her bare skin all the same and she started to get goosebumps ... and other bumps on her chest.

Lacey was not much better. After making sure Monica was okay with it - man, that was humiliating - Lacey was able to cobble together a bikini from Sam's ex-clothes. She was fully clothed, technically, but it did little for insulation.

It was soon the family's turn to deplane. Sam and Joanne exited their rows, and Sam took out Joanne's and Lacey's bags. She decided to keep Lacey's bag and roll it off the plane. Lacey was fuming at this, but decided to grin and bear it for now.

Eventually the trio, with quite a few eyeballs and camera flashes, was able to get off the plane and get to the gate. The airport was only marginally warmer than the plane, and the three women shivered and had to rub themselves to keep warm; the daughters' bare feet - Joanne's flip flops had been left on the plane in the confusion - also did not help matters as they felt the granite floor. At least this will be over when we get to baggage claim, Sam thought to herself...
