Chibiusa could no longer bear it—this endless waiting, listening to the “important people” talk about progress, make plans, and study maps. She sat next to her mother in the grand Crystal Hall of the palace, the crystal-white walls shimmering in the soft light of the chandeliers, but to her it felt like a prison. The sun had set, night had fallen, and outside the darkness raged on. Chibiusa knew: Tonight she would go in search of Minako and Ami. She would find them and save them—as soon as everyone was distracted and no one could stop her.

She listened to the highest palace guard—a man in an immaculate crystal-white uniform, the palace crest gleaming on his chest. His voice was calm, factual, yet his words struck Chibiusa like knife blows.

“The entire entertainment district is sealed off,” he explained, activating a holographic map of light that spread across the table. The lost areas glowed red—a pulsing, blood-red network of streets and squares. “Parts of the warehouse and harbor districts are also affected. Streets and access routes have been blocked with containers, guarded by sentries. People trying to leave the zone are checked—we screen for infections, bite marks, unusual arousal. There were clashes with vampires during the operations—losses on both sides. But the barricades are holding for now.”

The map zoomed in—blue lines encircled the red zones like a protective shield. Chibiusa stared at it, her fingers digging into the hem of her uniform. Blue and red—life and ****. Her friends were somewhere in that red inferno.

The guard continued, his voice growing more serious. “Regarding the vampires: These creatures feed on the blood of their victims and infect them with it. The venom rebuilds the entire body—no heartbeat anymore, no body heat. In the first hours, they seem to be in a kind of frenzy—they attack anything they encounter. They are permanently aroused, and if someone comes into contact with their bodily fluids, it triggers a constantly increasing arousal. The victims will do anything for relief—but only a bite fully transforms someone into one of these vampires. They are extremely resilient—only a direct hit to the heart or head stops them. Then they disintegrate instantly into ash. So far, there seems to be no reversal after transformation.”

Chibiusa felt her heart race. Ami had been bitten. Minako was missing—infected? Transformed? The guard’s words echoed in her head: *no reversal*. She clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms.

“But we have to save them,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “Ami… Minako… they’re our family. We can’t just give up on them.”

Usagi – Neo-Queen Serenity – placed a hand on Chibiusa’s shoulder, her fingers trembling slightly. “We won’t give up,” she said softly, though her eyes were red from crying. “But we need a plan. We can’t run blindly into the zone.”

Makoto growled. “I’m going with her. Now. We’re not waiting until tomorrow.”

Rei shook her head. “The barricades are holding. We use the night to gather information. If we storm in now, we lose even more.”

Hotaru spoke quietly, her violet eyes glowing faintly. “The darkness… it has grown stronger. I feel it. Setsuna… she’s there too. I sense her presence—but it’s fading.”

Chibiusa jumped up. “I’m not waiting! When the sun sets, I’m going. I’ll find them. I’ll save them.”

Usagi pulled her back, hugging her tightly. “We’ll go together. But we’ll do it right. We’ll bring them all back—Ami, Minako, Setsuna. We’re the Sailor Senshi. We don’t give up.”

The officer nodded. “We have maps, reports, survivors. We’ll plan the ****. But be careful—the infection is spreading faster than we thought.”

Chibiusa nodded—but in her eyes burned determination. The sun had set. The night had begun.

And she would not wait.

For her sisters.
