Chapter 3 by Katnaace Katnaace

Give it a shot?

Checking it out

Picking the book up, you head for the seat.

"Oh my. Someone's aware." Rose remarked, an eye roll being the response back. "Oh well."

Nonetheless, you take a seat amid what you can only assume are alternate versions of yourself. It's kind of odd seeing of them there. But you pay them no mind.

Abgail was living the life.

Her husband Richard was halfway across the world in Japan for the month, leaving her the sole person to take care of the home for the moment.

"What's this?" the housewife thought, scrolling through her Nowliter feed for the moment. "The Ghetto Gal Challenge."

Tapping it twice, the image loaded up on her phone. On one side, there was a white woman with the caption 'Day 1'. She was dressed in a t-shirt and pants. Her hair looked to be some shade of blonde, hanging down to her neck.

The other side had the caption of 'Day 30'. The woman pictured on that side looked to be a black bombshell of a gal. The sort that both men and woman would want to have. Dressed in a white dress that showcased her augmented breasts and face, her black hair had grown out and been set into curls. She appeared to also be sporting a necklace with a pair of female symbols together.

Abgail could see the appeal. Even if this all could just be some pictureshop trickery.

The page that came up was decorated with pretty black woman. If Abgail wasn't married, part of her would go on a date with all of them. But she pushed those thoughts out. She was a married woman to a man, after all. Just thinking that alone was a big betrayal alone. Not that her husband really needed to know about it right now. Especially if she somehow failed this challenge and remained a white woman.

"Okay. I need to decide my black name."

Looking away from the site for a brief moment, Abgail debated her options. Sure, there was some charm in a name starting in 'La-', but that felt like cheating to an extent.

"Ashanti."

Typing that into the box, she pressed 'enter', the site changing.
