Check the text from your old friend

Your friend, Bella, sent you a message timestamped to earlier today. She seems really excited to be attending the same university as you and wants to meet up. You are excited, too, but you don’t want to let her know that right away. She sort of ditched you for a guy two years ago, and you hadn’t really heard from her since. You read it:

so i know we haven’t talked in forever and i swear i did not follow you here, but you should totally come by my dorm (L605) and see me

Through middle school and the beginning of high school, Bella Thompson had always been there for you. Then she changed all of a sudden, started dating, and was out of your life. Every once and a while she would say she wanted to hang out again, but it never materialized. She was always cute (and to be honest, you always had a secret crush on her) but you wondered what she was like now. Maybe after you get the book, you’ll stop by her dorm.

You look up and see the librarian still talking with that guy. Maybe there’s time to read one more text message… or maybe you need to let the librarian know that you don’t want to stand in line forever.
