Chapter 4 by Heavy Ion Heavy Ion

What does Texas do?

Check out the warehouse

Texas decided that the strangeness of the warehouse merited an inspection, it might lead her to finding the missing townsfolk as well. She slowly walked up, the noises coming from the warehouse getting louder and louder, the blue light shimmering and flashing occasionally as Texas gripped her pistol, ready for anything. She walked right up to the warehouse door, and slowly pushed it open to get a peak inside, and there sat something that Texas never imagined in her wildest dreams.

A large, blue...machine of some sort, sat in the centre of the warehouse, It looked like nothing Texas had ever seen before. The weird mechanisms and tubes that surrounded the machine, the blue glow that emanated from the circular pad of the machine, and the strange sounds that were radiating from it. But the machine wasn't by itself, someone was kneeling next to it, a Dingo, who seemed to be busy tinkering with the machine, and a strange glowing screen that was attached to it. Suddenly the machine began to blast an alarm, a red light shining through the interior as the Dingo just let out a sigh.

"God Dammit," He said, smacking the side of the machine, "You'd think they would make this thing user friendly."

"It probably wasn't ready for the general public Dire." Came another voice. Texas looked over to see two...strange looking people walk out from the shadows towards the machine. Texas hadn't seen people like them before. The first one looked like a Jackal of some sorts, but since when where Jackals blue and black...or had a spike sticking from their hands and chest? The other was even weirder, looking like she came straight from the Jurassic age but her shiny blue coat told Texas otherwise. Regardless, Texas had to note that both of them seemed to be quite bottom-heavy.

"Yeah no shit. Can't believe they actually got a time machine to work though." The Dingo said, Texas guessing that was Dire.

"Just make sure you don't break it then." The blue Jackal said.

"Hey, I'm trying alright? I'm reading the instruction manual and everything." Dire said, pulling out a small pamphlet. "Besides we wouldn't be in this mess if you and Aura there didn't it be a fun prank to sandwich me into the weird looking machine that sent us back in time."

"Well to be fair Dire, there wasn't much for me or Sumo to do. Bounce was tearing up the place all by herself." The blue dinosaur apparently named Aura said, Texas watching the scene play out with curiosity.

"We'd probably be home by now if she was here to fix this thing." The blue jackal called Sumo stated, crossing her arms.

"Pretty sure Bounce's field is more biology then physics, so we might be in the same situation we are now." Dire responded, the Dingo reaching inside the machine.

"Just tell us when your done smartass." Sumo said.

"Love you too Sumo." Dire responded, the Dingo smirking before he looked over at the two, "Don't you two still have that 'Punching bag' to use? Or are you about to make another run into town for one?"

"Oh no, we still have it. We're just giving it a break." Aura said with a wide smile.

"Well that's generous of you, considering what you did to the other punching bags..." Dire said back.

"Not a long one though, we're going back now to finish our 'training'." Sumo said, putting her arm around Aura and walking back towards the side-room of the warehouse.

"Have fun...now, what the hell is the flux-capacitor?" Dire said, getting back to repairs.

Texas slowly closed the door, and leaned up against the warehouse wall, the Weasel trying to quietly breathe as she tried to process everything she heard and saw. Whoever these people are, these time-travellers, they seemed to be the ones responsible for the missing townsfolk. The Dingo seemed to be by himself, fixing whatever machine had taken them back here. The other two meanwhile were heading off to deal with their 'punching bag', which Texas could only guess was the latest missing townsperson. Alright, she needed to bring these criminals in, but how?

She could sneak into the warehouse, try to hold up or knock out the Dingo who was too distracted with repairing that he might not notice her. She could ignore the Dingo entirely and move around to the side-room of the warehouse to see if she could save the townsperson in time from the other two. Then again, she could always go in loud and fast. The Weasel took a deep breathe before pulling out her revolver, the Sheriff deciding...

Texas decides to do what?
