Chatting with Dylan & Kate

"Alright here we are, hopefully she's working today, you still up for this Dylan?" I asked.

He pushed up his glasses and had a hungry look in his eyes, "OH yeah I've been so excited for this you're lucky I didn't drop by earlier" He said applying Chapstick to his lips. "Plus my mom thinks I'm here chatting up nurses anyway." He stifled a laugh.

"Hey man, don't you think it's a little weird that you mom wants you to go out and meet a bunch of different women?" I asked sincerely.

"Well he had to move for her work... and then all of the sudden she told me to go out and meet a lot of women. She used to pester me about finding a girlfriend before, but not really like this."

"And that type of pressure doesn't bother you?"

"Well we used to live in a really small town and I have lived a 'sheltered' life so I guess meeting more people make sense, but I also don't know what is and isn't within the norm you know?"

"Never hurts to ask her man, maybe she's just worried or something, you know moms get like that sometimes."

"Maybe I will. Hey is that the girl you're interested in?" Dylan motioned towards Kate.

"Yeah, Hey Kate!" I said as we walked towards her. She was still in her teal blue scrubs. Her eyes lit up when she saw me.

"Hey Dustin, you came back, are you still having some pain? Oh and you brought someone with you!" She smiled at Dylan quick before looking back at me.

"Yeah my neck is feeling great thanks for the treatment." I winked at her, "Do you think you have some time to talk today?"

"We're actually not that busy, so yeah I think we can talk."

"I was just hoping maybe I could get your number and we could, you know, hang out sometime?"

"Oh, you... you want to hang out with me?" Kate blushed a bit.

"Yeah, you seem like a really sweet person and I want to get you know you better."

"Thanks Dustin, that's really nice of you to say, I wanted to get to know you too. Also who's your friend, does he need some assistance?"

"That's just Dylan, he was interested in learning about the clinic."

"Nice to meet you Dylan, can I help you with something?" Dylan was looking around, searching for the older nurse.

"Well I kinda told him about that older nurse, the one who's really um, forward, with the male patients?"

"You mean Louise, yeah she's still a flirt even in her old age," giggled Kate. "I don't have my phone on me, but I can put my number in yours if you'd like."

"That's awesome, and then when I text I'll let you know it is me."

"Thanks but I really only have Louise and Dr. Kendall in my phone. I haven't really explored here since I moved in with Dr. Kendall and don't really know that many people." It felt nice to know that even though Kate was such an introvert that she still was interested in talking to me and even hanging out in the future.

"Yeah I'm new to the area too, so we can explore the town together, it'll be a fun adventure!"
