Chase After Him

"Hold on!" You wave at the man as you catch up to him, hoping to get his attention. "Wait!" Eventually, he stops and turns to you, looking at you quizzically.

"What do you want?"

"It's... look at your leg."

Again, he looks at you with a confused look, but this time you can see the slightest bit of suspicion in his eyes, no doubt at the fact that you know about what happened to his foot. Nevertheless, he rolls up his pantleg to examine it... and then, on finding nothing but tan-coloured latex deer "skin", rolls it higher, and higher still, until he eventually has to stop a little above his knee. He looks at you, white as a ghost.

"Wha- how? What the hell is this?!?"

You can tell from the tone of his voice that he's panicking and that he thinks you might be involved in what's happening to him, so you quickly explain to him everything you've seen so far tonight. He still looks suspicious of you, but at the very least he seems a little more trusting.

"Do you have any idea how I can stop it?" he asks you, desperation creeping into his voice. You shake your head, and then suggest that the two of you at least take a look at how far it's progressed. He agrees and then pulls down his pants so that you can get a better look at his leg.

You're both surprised to see just how far the latex has moved. Already, his entire left leg is coated in the thick. shiny tan rubber, the inside surface near the top a lighter colour than the rest. The substance reaches right into his boxers, just barely peeking over his waistband in the front, with a small tuft-like tail of the lighter-coloured stuff sticking out over the back. It's already begun to descend down his right leg, the patterning matching what you'd seen on the left.

Seeing the latex actually covering so much of his body disheartens both of you, and your utter lack of knowledge about it doesn't exactly help. Is it going to cover him from head to toe? Will his mind change like the man from earlier? Is it contagious? So many questions, and so few answers for them. All you know for sure is that you don't have a lot of time for decisions - whether you're going to help him out or run before it gets worse, you'll have to do it quick.
