Charlotte trapped in the closet!

Charlotte had been in her fair share of tight spots before. She was a woman of action, after all. Usually, though, those 'tight spots' were metaphorical rather than literal, but somehow after only a few hours on board the SS Awesome Excelsior, Charlotte had ended up trapped in one of the janitor's closets.

She didn't even know where she was, really. She had had an idea when she had been walking through the halls, but after a little while in this closet and a general unfamiliarity with the layout of the ship, Charlotte was pretty sure that she was completely lost. Even if she had brought her cell phone with her (like Mariah had warned her to do at all times!), she never would have been able to guide the others to find her in here. She just didn't know where 'here' was.

Charlotte sighed. She was smarter than this. How had she not noticed that the closet locked from the outside? I mean, who the fuck makes a broom closet that doesn't unlock from the inside? she thought to herself. She very nearly started pounding on the door to the closet before thinking better of it. If someone came by, she would need to signal them somehow, but just wildly banding on the door would make her seem more like a crazy person than anything else. She would probably just end up scaring off any possible help if she tried out that idea.

So instead she took a seat on one of the overturned buckets in the closet, resting her chin on the palms of her hands. She couldn't believe that she had ended up in this situation. What kind of PhD student locks themselves in a closet? she thought.

It's not like it hadn't been her fault that she was in there in the first place.
