K. Who is Esvera's best friend?
K1. Catherine – the third daughter of a noble, and the most rebellious of his children. She is skilled with both sword and bow, so she can take care of herself – which is good because she often does as she pleases.
K2. Lisa – a young human girl working in her family's inn and tavern. She is quite popular with the visitors because of her looks. She has exceptional balance and some basic skills in unarmed combat, for when a patron gets too drunk and too touchy-feely.
K3. Tara – daughter of a powerful wizard. Currently studies at the Academy. Specializes in attack spells. Rather weak physically but makes up for it with her spells. Loves to hear stories about far away places.
K4. Evelyn – the third child of a rich merchant and his trophy wife. She has inherited her mother's looks but is very strong-willed, unlike her mother. She has a thirst for adventure, much to her parents' displeasure and worry, but fortunately she also has some limited skills in using daggers and thrown weapons (mostly throwing knives), knows some spells, and is smart enough to know when she's getting involved in something that might be too much for her to handle.
K5. Makayla – a middle-aged voluptuous witch. Lived in seclusion before coming to live in Syrada (and still lives alone). Works as a healer and curse breaker, is tired of being the target of male cravings and men's wives' vicious rumors. Skilled at healing, curses, and the use of a dagger. [Character based on a comment by @majus, but with a few edits]

Note: All of the above characters exist, but the main character is guaranteed to know only the one chosen to be her best friend. She might meet the rest later (and may even know some from the beginning).

L. Esvera caught a thief trying to steal from her family. The thief “forgot” an item. What was that item?
L1. Boots of Silent Walk – bonus to Stealth (bonus is halved when running)
L2. A small pouch full of Dispelling Dust – main purpose is to dispel most magical barriers, but can dispel a number of other spells and enchantments, such as invisibility and illusions
L3. Cloak of Shadows – bonus to rolls when trying to hide in shadows and dark places
L4. Gloves of Skill – small bonus to a number of rolls that involve using her hands: Lock Picking, Pick Pocketing, attacking, throwing, etc.
L5. Bracelet of Improved Sight – a thin steel bracelet. The enchantment makes it easier to see when visibility is limited (darkness, fog, sandstorm, etc.)
L6. Enchanted Throwing Dagger – a steel dagger with an enchantment that returns it to the owner after it hits something

M. How did she catch the thief?
M1. She sneaked up on her and knocked her out with a precise blow to the head before calling the guards
M2. She locked the thief in a room and called the guards before the thief could escape
M3. The thief was dressed as a maid. Esvera pretended to have been fooled by the disguise, got the new “maid” to go with her, brought her to a bedroom that needed some “cleaning”, and proceeded to seduce the fake maid and strip her down to her underwear before tying her up with her maid dress and calling the guards (who were quite amused to see the barely-dressed thief)
M4. The thief was dressed as a maid.
