Chapter Master

The highest rank a normal space marine can reach. To a successor chapter, they lead all 1000 marines in the chapter. For a founding chapter like the Blood Angels or the Salamanders, they are second in command to their Primarch.

Besides wearing their chapters colour's, there is no expected add on's to their armor. Chapter Masters can dress how ever they want as long as it is impressive so people can know who's in charge at a glance.

The **** of a Chapter Master is a heavy blow to the moral of the chapter. However they won't be without a replacement. Once announced as Chapter Master, they must choose a Heir Apparent. An Heir Apparent will replace a chapter Master once they die so a successor chapter won't be without leadership for long. An Heir Apparent is not as big a deal in a chapter with a Primarch, but they still have them since Chapter Masters still have alot of duties.

Some chapter's call their Chapter Masters different things. For example the Iron Hand's call theirs the Iron Father or the Blood Angels call theirs the Commander.

A Chapter Master has no limit to how big their harems are allowed to be. However except for rare exceptions, their harems will never be as large as a Primarch's or a Custodes.
