Chapter Four - Day 2: Work Begins

As Lily arose the next morning the first thing she noticed was the loud crashes of the waves outside, lifting her head slightly she could see the sun was already up and beaming in the sky a little more cloudy than yesterday but still a lovely sight, a few birds could be heard tweeting and chirping away close by as well, she allowed herself a few moments to enjoy the sight know she had several things to do today.

She felt her husband stir behind her his arm still draped over her, his PJ's hiding his semi erect penis that was nestled between her buttocks, Lily however had other things on her mind, first things first she had to do something about their bathroom issue.

Two hours later:

It had taken longer than anticipated but she had managed it. The remains of the porcelain toilet had been....fixed, sadly it had not been fully fixable but witht he aid of magic it now closly resembered what it once had mins the large amount of cracks it had sustained.

James had awoken whilst she was busy working on a set of ruins that would be placed inside the newly 'fixed' toilet that would alter any waste into oxygen, it wasn't perfect but it was better than going in a bush and squatting, James had managed to salvage some of the wood and create what resemebled a small outhouse against one of the trees a short distance away from the conservatory.

After finshing it up and placing the fixed porcelain object in it's new home Lily wasted no time and went about her buisness. She hadn't been overly pleased when her husband had asked if she wanted a newspaper to read whilst in there.

Still both Potters were quite happy to have the small attachment, though James didn't mind going in the woods even he preferred it this way.

Still with two hours wasted Lily decided it was time to properly bathe, both she and James had stripped down to their birthday suits and entered the water which was whilst cold it wasn't exactly freezing. Lily also use a warming charm on her body, it didn't heat up the water any but the coldness wasn't hitting her as hard anymore, James did the same as the two spent the next thirty minutes.

James would be lying if he said he wasn't a pervert has he watched his wife clean her orafices with a sponge and some soap. The sight of Lily with her wet red hair and water and suds running down her body was getting him excited that he waas once again pitching a tent. Sadly he knew his wife was hell bent on getting SOME work done today with yesterday being a blow off.

Lily had sent Loki off with a couple of letters before they had turned in the previous night, one for her boss and the other a **** threat to Sirius, they had contemplated contacting the kids with the two way mirror but with the time diffference of the UK being over two hours ahead it would have been after 10pm UK time before they finally had the chance.

Still James glanced over at the mirror which sat on the table, they could contact the kids laterafter they had finished classes, Harry as far as he knew was still in posession of the other mirror trusting his oldest to keep it a serect for the time being. The kids were also filled in on the fact that their parents would be away from home for a few months but they hadn't been let in the the where or why.

Still James resigned to contact them later, Lily was planning to begin her job this afternoon which would mainly leave him with little else to do.

After finishing off their bath and having a fairly big lunch of grilled steak and salad Lily finally couldn't put it off anymore and dressed for a day of hiking, James joined her jokingly becoming her pack mule. The surrounding area of the Black Villa was fairly well documented in the journels they had but the island was unmapped.

With James's work on the Marauders Map and Lily's abilities with charms and ruins they had created a map of their own nothing as sepcial as the Hogwarts one but the more they journeyed out the more the map would be uncovered, inking away to itself as they walked, documenting and outlining the island as they passed.

Lily's first hope was to outline to exterior of the island so they had a full idea of the land mass they were currently occupying, still after a solid hour of walking she was worried about losing even more time and had James unshrink his broom, wilst Lily wasn't a fan of flying James had promised to stay fairly close to the ground with her arms wrapped around her husbands waste they set off covering far more of the island beachline than they could have managed on foot.

After having completed a loop now much faster thanks to the nimbus Lily had done her calculations, the island was roughly 7-8 miles in circumfrance, they still had a lot of the island left to explore and uncover but the actual outline was at least now down on ink and partchment.

James watched his wife who was in her element, Lily was already making coopies of teh map as well as making notes in her diary, James snorted, looking at his watch he hadn't realised that it was almost 4pm, the kids might be back in the dorms by now.

"Hey Lils. it's nearly 6pm back home, think I'm going to contact the kids", She looked up and nodded eagerly, she herself hadn't seen them in nearly a week now herself and minus one letter from Jasmine about her placment in Gryffindor and how she was settling in they hadn't heard anything else.

"Proglet" James exclaimed to the mirror patiently waiting to hear a response from his son. After a few minutes he had almost given up and was about to put the mirror down before he could hear a lot of russling about as well as his son swearing up a storm.

"Sorry, sorry...fuck...hey dad you there" Harry's voice came back, James squinted not seeing his son but recognising the celiing in teh boys dorm.

"yeah I'm here Proglet, where are you are you arlight?" he asked worried about his sons cursing, Lily was also looking over worriedly. After another moment their son finally came into frame wincing and a bit heavy of breath.

"Hey dad, yeah I'm fine, I felt the mirro buzzing but I was in the corridor, had to dash back here and banged my knee on the stupid dresser" He explained glaring at the inanimate object. James snorted in amusment, Lily shook her head.

"And do you often swear like a sailor on leave son?" she asked from the table. James saw his sons face turn white having not realised his mother was close by.

"Errr Hi mom....err didn't know you were there" he stammered out, James let out a hearty laugh, Lily got up and took the mirror from her hyena of a husband, she took in her sons form eagerly as she missed him and her daughters dearly.

"I'll let it slide sweety, this time, how are you, how's school going and are your sisters thereas well?" she asked. Her son gave an abridged update on his time at Hogwarts as a 7th year so far, as well as the classes.

"...so yeah that happened as well. As for Jazzy and Rose, I think Rose is still in the Great Hall with her friends though they might have headed off for the library by now, Jasmine I saw hanging out with some other firsties playing with the Puffskeins near the greenhouses". Lily nodded along glad to ehar her kids were doing well, he husband had finally calmed down and rejoined her the two sat at the table.

"Do you know if they'll be free later sweety?" Lily asked, Harry shrugged in response.

"Well I can grab them when they come back later, Jazzy will have to be back by 8pm latest anyway so I can get her then, I assume Rosy will be back from the library or whatever not much later, do you want me to call you guys back when they're here?" he inquired. Both parents nodded.

"I might be working but your dad will have the mirror close at hand dear", Harry also nodded in understanding.

"Alright well I need to get going, I have quidditch practice in just over 15 minutes" he explained.

"Okay be carful sweetheart and hopefully I'll speak with you later"

"See later son and try not to show up the rest of the team too much" his dad replied. Both parties ended with goodbye and loving farewells, Lily felt a small flicker of joy enter her, it was always a nice treat to see their children when they were at Hogwarts. Hopefully she got to speak with her daughters later though.

"Good to see the kids are all settled at Hogwarts" James stated, Lily hummed in agreement.

"Shame Rosy and Jazzy weren't there though". Lily took a swig of her coffee before turning to look outside, the sun was still beaming but it would begin to set in a few hours.

"I think I'm going to make the most of the remaining daylight, according to the books around 1200 yards of the surrounding area of teh villa is documented, I'm going to to see how accurate they are" She explained. James nodded in agreement following his wife once again as she began to examine the villa close surroundings.

Over the next couple of hours Lily had to begrudgingly admit that Sirius had been quite helpful with the books, maps and notes he had passed on, not all of it was totally accurate but surrounding area was fairly well written down. Some of wildlife had changed with more insect varients thankfully all she recognised as well as a few different flora that weren't inked anywhere that left her a bit confused but she took note to see him she could find these species in any of her text books back in the trunk.

As they made there was back to the villa the mirror finally went off allowing the parents to see both their daughters on the other end. Jasmine of course wouldn't stop with the questions.

"Are you in a Jungle, what are you doing, why is it still light there?" and so on, Rose did eventually make some edgeways herself also asking how her parents were, they could also see Harry in the background who simply waved as he was on the edge of his bed obviously looking through his homework. The conversation continued for a few minutes as the parents slowed their pace to continue chatting with the girls. As they arrived at the villa the call came to an end. Both James and Lily smiling happily s they had now seen all their children doing well.

As the night rolls in:

The sun had set well over an hour ago and the only sorce of light now being the two magic lanterns they had brought. Lily was close to finishing up her work for teh day, despite the crappy start yesterday, day two had been far more productive for her job, Her job journal was finished and she was just copying it to her own diary with her own personal flare, James let out a sudden grunt from a snore as he turned over in bed having called it a night a littler earlier.

Lily looked over at her husband who was laid on his back now snoring gently. A look of fondness crossed her face as she was also looking forward tog etting some rest. A short time later and finally finished Lily stretched her arms and back a feeling of satisfaction filling her, intending to join her husband in a moment she grab a toothbrush and began brshing as she made her way to the outhouse.

Removing her trouses and underwear she squatted down and procceded to do her buisness when suddenly "OW!", the toothbrush was spit out as she felt something pinch her buttcheek, looking into the toilet she couldn't see anything due to the darkness and her wand was back inside the conservatory. Feeling a little worried she dashed to grab her wand before returning.

"Lumos" she cried, the outhouse lit up but sadly she couldn't see anything, there was a good chance that whatever bit her had escaped, Lily calmed herself rationalising things, there wasn't anything venomous this close to the villa but she made sure to swallow a bezoar as she finally arrived back home.

As she climed into bed she felt around the area of the bite, nothing seemed to be swelling and her faculties all seemed to be normal, she'd have to take a look at what actually bit her in the morning but as she felt fine for the moment she allowed herself to rest for remainder of the night.

Another week another chapter, as always sorry for the grammar and spelling errors.
