Chapter 37

Chapter 37

Preparation

I arrived back home not long after leaving the house were Elena was kept, the brunette doppelganger still in my arms, landing down outside my house. I felt the presence of over a dozen vampires in my home, tensing slightly, I prepared for another fight. Walking through the door, I was met by the sight of Caroline, Bonnie, and Alexandria on one side of the room. On the other side stood Rose, Lexi and Pearl, a few other vampires littered the room at random, seems as though they were the ones following Pearl. As we walked through the door, they all turned to face me and Elena, looks of surprise and relief painted on their faces. "Elena, you're okay",, Caroline spoke while dashing over to her best friend, Bonni, following after the Blonde to meet her friend. Both of them looked completely relieved to see their best friend alive and unharmed.

As the three friends met each other, Rose stepped forward to speak, "You're back, we were not sure how long you would be gone." Rose said calmly, yet I could see a slight look of relief on her face. It seems even after five centuries by my side, she was still worried when I went into danger. "Yes, it took less time to find the young doppelganger than I thought it would", I responded, before drawing my attention to Pearl and the other vampires in the room. Rose, seeming to read my mind, spoke, "As soon as Caroline told us that Elena was kidnapped, I asked Pearl to lend us aid; we were just about to set out to look for her ourselves". I nodded, processing what Rose said before I spoke, "Well then I should thank you for being so willing to aid us Pearl". "Of course, we agreed to be loyal to you", she responded.

"Who kidnapped Elena?" Lexi asked from the other side of the room. "Vampires loyal to my brother Elijah, they hoped to gain favour from both Klaus and Elijah by delivering Elena to them. They were meeting with him when I got there. They did not live long enough to regret their actions," I stated. "And your brother, Lexi spoke again. "We fought and I drove a stake through his heart, then burnt the house down around him".

"So an original is dead", Pearl spoke with slight fear on her face for half a second, probably imagining what a fight between two originals would look like. "That's a good thing, he won't be a threat then", she continued. "No, I wish it was that simple, we can not be killed, he will have removed the stake and be on his way back to Klaus by now", I responded, leaving out the fact that we could be killed. I did not think sharing the fact that white oak could kill us would be a good idea, that information in the wrong hands would be devastating. "They will both soon descend on Mystic Falls, though I have a plan to deal with Klaus" I continued. "Pearl, you should probably prepare for any vampires they bring with them, they may wish to cause trouble with your vampires", I said, to which she nodded in agreement.

"There is one other thing" Pearl spoke up again. I motioned for her to continue, "Another pack of werewolves have entered Mystic Falls, we don't know much about them, but they seem to be getting close to the Lockwoods," she spoke again. "Okay, like I previously said, leave them be for now, only fight them if they attack first, and if any of you get bit, come to me, I can cure the venom", I responded. That was probably the pack led by Jules, I remembered from the show, who caused the **** of Rose after she attempted to defend Damon from them. The attack by the wolves was sort of justified after he went after them first, it was just unfortunate that Rose was caught in the crossfire. Though I knew that would not happen here I did not doubt that the wolves would cause problems in the future. "Pearl, thank you for coming to my aid. Once again, your show of loyalty is appreciated. I will let you get off, I am sure that you have many other things to get on with," I said, dismissing her and the vampires she brought with her.

I watched them leave before turning to the others in the room. "So, what's the plan?" Alexandria asked. I went over the plan I had, filling everyone in the room on my and Elena's discussion. "Sure, but if it comes down to a fight, even you won't be able to fight two of your brothers at once" Alexandria spoke again. It was true that I was arguably the strongest of my siblings, with both my magic and the extra strength the dragon gave me, yet two originals attacking me at once could overpower me. Though it would not be an easy fight for them, I would most certainly severely injure them, though they would eventually fall. Unlike in the show, Klaus and Elijah were not the strongest of us; Finn, having not been daggered for centuries, was the strongest of my siblings, less than me but still stronger than the others. Elijah would fall in just behind Finn, followed by Klaus, Kol, and finally Rebekah, until the hybrid curse was broken; then, Klaus would probably be of equal strength to me. "You're right, which is why I think it is time for the rest of my siblings to come together again. I will ask Kol, Finn and Rebekah to come to Mystic Falls as soon as possible", I explained.

"Finally, it feels like we have not all been under one roof in ages", Alexandria said, "and I am guessing that Elena will finally be able to meet another doppelganger", she continued. "What do you mean?" Elena asked as Alexandria spoke. "What she means is Katherine will most certainly be coming with Rebekah" I explained to Elena.

"Won't someone realise that there are two of us?" Elena asked. "No Katherine is very good at going unnoticed, you have nothing to worry about" I explained, which seemed to assure her. "and I am sure she will be very interested in you" I continued. "why, I mean we share a face but would she be that interested just because of our face being the same?" she asked again. "well its more than just sharing a face, you are the same, completely and utterly, your very souls are the same. Katherine also was very interested in hearing stories about Tatia, one of the other doppelgangers I knew when I was human," I explained to her.

"All that aside, how did the idiotic Salvatores find Elena" I asked the room. "that's on me" Bonnie spoke "I used a locator spell, my grams taught me it, then I told them where Elena was" she continued. "okay, well it's good that you are improving with your magic" I responded, by the look on her face she expected me to disapprove of the use of magic and was surprised when I complimented her spell work instead. That solves that, I suppose it makes sense they still arrived after me and the distance was not too far for a vampire. I did decide to leave out the fact that both of those idiots would have gotten killed if I had not stepped in.

"Well, you three should probably head home, it is getting late", I said. Bonnie nodded before heading out, yet Elena and Caroline stayed. "Will we be safe?" Elena asked, with concern showing through her tone. "For now, you will be. It will probably take a week before Klaus, Elijah and any that follow them to head here", I responded. They nodded, both thinking before Elena spoke again. "We probably will be alright, but just in case, we should probably stay with you for tonight at least, just to make sure no vampires stayed behind from the others, just in case I did get away". "Yeah, it might be unsafe for her to go home for tonight at least, I should also stay just to make sure Elena is alright after everything that happened", Caroline spoke up.

I thought for a moment before answering, "If you think that is best, I will show you two of the guest rooms", I responded, still thinking that their intentions were not entirely pure. I led them to their rooms for the night before I, too, went to get some rest. I lay down to allow myself to rest. The day's events had not left me tired, my enhanced physiology making it so sleep was not necessary, yet I still slept as it gave me time to recuperate. Just as I was beginning to feel sleep overtake me a knock at my door woke me from my near sleep.
