The only option was YES. In fact the popup took up almost all of the screen and I wasn't able to turn off my phone let alone leave the app, so after panicking for about a minute I clicked it. Before me was a very simple UI, a sleek white background with two grayed out tabs at the top "Clients" and "shop". Before I could click on anything a new popup appeared.

Since this is the tutorial us heavenly spirits have decided to lend our power to ensure the quest: Tutorial can be completed PLEASE HOLD.

Suddenly I hear the door swing open. "I'M HOME! With the cake mind you!" My mom yells. I scramble to the door trying my best to look normal. Before me is my mom caring a small chocolate cake. Her hair dyed a light natural red and her bosom large enough to block the view of the cake she's holding.

"Let me put this on the counter" She walks right past me not noticing my bewildered expression. "I told them to email me when it was ready but all they said when I got there was that I was supposed to give my phone number- a phone number can you believe that I need one of those radiation emitting devices just to get my son their birthday cake? unbelievable."

"yah mom that's crazy" Any other day I would dismiss her fear of radiation emitting cellular devices but as I hear another subtle _*PING* _coming from my phone I decide now is not the time.

My Mom places the cake on the island countertop accidentally giving me a wonderful view of her own cake trying to escape her tight skinny jeans.

“Oh god look at me I haven’t even said happy birthday yet!” My mom embraces me with a hug only.

*ZAP*

“OW I can’t believe I let you get that thing”

“I-I don’t think the static shock was from my phone Mom.” I stammer for once actually lying about my smartphone's potential effects.

“You say that but the spirits don’t lie young man I feel energy from that thing. Let me wash up then I’ll sing you happy birthday…you won’t believe what I got you this year.” Just like that she walks away completely unaware of the shattered normalcy that is my current reality.

Finally with some time to think I open the app seeing a completely new tab has manifested among the other two.

What? Immediately a million thoughts cross my mind. How does it no my mom’s name? The app must be from some god if I’m not hallucinating, but what God? Deity? Spirits? Thing? Decides the list of importance on a financial app is debt height BREAST SIZE Then hair color? Who measures in hours of chores? Before I could fire off more neurons another pop up appears.

Heavenly Tithings: 10% of current debt towards user is paid off every three days. As debt is paid off Client views the User with more heavenly authority proportional to debt paid.

What does this mean? Will my mom start viewing me as some sort of spiritual priest like her? That would be really helpful. No more preachings about gemstones if I could “inform” her of my own tarot card readings on the subject, but why can’t I pick the down payment option? I never made a wish, at least as far as I can tell, and a monthly allowance would be great… assuming I am not paid in chores.

Where's the harm anyway I might actually end up closer to my mother without having to do her temple chores all day. Although it looks like those chores might actually have some value once that shop tab is no longer grayed out. I click Heavenly Tithings seeing a new portion of her UI come up showing off her new debt plan before my screen is encompassed by another message.

Authors Note: Wow...hi...there are people reading this. First off thank you. When I woke up this morning I was going to be happy if my story got published let alone people choosing to actively follow it.

Importance stuff first where's the spice??? Thank you for reading this long despite the lack of it I assure you spice is coming in the next chapter, and from then on I plan to have spice be in most chapters never going two chapters without it.

Chapters should be between 750-1250 words(not counting these lovely notes of mine) on average I know I've started on the lower side with these chapters, but I plan to change that moving forward. My story takes a lot of inspiration from app based stories on this website, but I want to have my own twist that being said audience participation is certainly not off the table after I set up the first two clients.
