Chapter 2.5 - Infiltrating the Rose Garden

A/N: This chapter is not written by the original author, and thus is not technically canon unless the author of this lovely story says so. Still, a fun idea for what might have happened after Chapter 2

Valerie tried to maintain her composure as she drove and slowly made their way up the path. Even after several missions that had ended with success, even if they more than a few had been...messy, to say the least, she always got nervous when a big mission came her way. This one was no exception, as Valerie was being sent in to a large estate to search for a spy that had gone missing.

A woman known simply by the code-name 'Briar', a well known spy and assassin though very few knew what she actually looked like, had gone missing in this area, and Valerie's organization had been asked to locate her. She was being sent in with very little information, and expected to succeed.

At least she had Iris to help her out, a fact reinforced as her familiar voice sounded in her right ear. "Okay, this is the only place that this 'Briar' could be, and the host is holding a large party tonight. So long as we discover where this woman went, we're home free."

Valerie frowned, even if she knew that Iris couldn't see it, her eyes watching the road as she drove up the path to the gates of the large manor. It was one of a precious few that existed on this road, and the rest had already been checked out by them, one by one. Only this one was left, the most well-guarded and most ostentatious of the bunch.

"What if she's being held hostage, like the organization suspects?" She responded, even as she smiled and waved to the valet directing her to an open spot, the sun already beginning to set. "We just...leave her there?"

"There's no way you'd be able to get her out on your own." Iris responded, even if she took a moment to, and there was a faint quiver in her voice. "We just pass the information on to the organization, and they'll take care of it from there."

Valerie sighed, but nodded after a moment and adjusted her dress. For this infiltration mission, she had gone with a sleek, backless dress that was a shimmering red this time. It showed a good deal of her ample cleavage, with a cut up one smooth leg, but reached down to her knees this time. She was sure that her soft, fit figure would still get a ton of attention in this dress, she just hoped that it would be enough.

"Alright..."

"Good. What's your status?" It was a question she was asked a lot by Iris, her way of checking that she was ready. That brought a genuine smile to her full lips, at least. Checking her purse, she had various sundries inside, her phone, a fake ID, lipstick, tissues, and precious little else. The phone had been altered to more easily take high-fidelity photos without a sound and with a single click of a button, but precious little else was out of the ordinary. Certainly nothing that anyone would notice to be amiss with even a careful examination.

"I'm good to go."

"I'm sure you've got this." It was nice to hear the tone of absolute confidence she had, at least. "Now...do you remember the plan for how you'll get in?"
