Chapter 18: ’s Quest
The next several weeks were a blur of fiery bodies. One point even Counselor Pettra stopped by because of a noise complaint. Not long after, she was part of the noise complaint.
One morning Samar awoke to the felt the warm bodies of Urpalla and Solveig on either side. Sacara and Zapphe were the big spoons behind them. Samar opened his eyes to see several notifications in front of his face.
Prolific Breeder lvl 1; failed to impregnate Construct Solveig level too low
Prolific Breeder lvl 1; failed to impregnate Construct Urpalla level too low
Prolific Breeder lvl 1; failed to impregnate Construct Zapphe level too low
Prolific Breeder lvl 1; failed to impregnate Construct Sacara level too low
Sensing he was awake, Solveig opened her eyes. Seeing a similar notification, she sighed. Suddenly a dark hooded figure appeared in the room. Solveig let out an annoyed groan. “Great, now what?”
Samar looked up to the sight that most men fear seeing. The reaper, her skull face shrouded in shadow. Under her robe was a decent figure, maybe even better than it was last time, or maybe that was the hormones that having a quad caused. He could feel her disapproving gaze despite not having a face. “I can hear your thoughts.” **** warned.
Solveig turned her gaze to Samar. He kept his gaze fixedly on **** and not on the pair of fiery eyes currently boring into the side of his head. The hooded face turned to Solveig “it” there was her usual pause “is not what you are” another pause “thinking.”
Solveig gave Samar a curious look and **** shook her head in exasperation “you are as bad as he.”
**** looked to him. He felt her gaze drift down to his naked form before rising back up. “I have a matter to speak with you.” she paused, seeing that while the other women were waking up, no one was moving. “Privately.” she added.
Solveig gave Samar a questioning look, and he nodded that it was fine. As women dressed and shuffled out of the small house, Samar realized that **** had disappeared. When the door closed, **** reappeared and looked down at him. “Champion, I have a quest for you..” the goddess’ voice seemed to come from everywhere at once.
Samar looked up to her, then to his bed “No, I’m not interested Dee, get another of the twelve to help.”
The godly pretence fell away and Dee let out a pained sigh “they have all died.”
Samar gave her a questioning look. She continued in her breathy whisper-like voice, “it’s a sensitive matter, but I need someone who hasn’t fully died. Your brief visit when you had a coma wasn’t enough for you to gain my Champions blessing. Because you lack this blessing, you are able, to complete this mission for me.”
Samar thought for a moment “this mission, it’s about some rogue necromancer, isn’t it.”
Dee nodded “it is, and what, is your price?”
Samar looked at her “normally it’s mortals trying to make deal’s with you.”
He could feel a wave of emotion; annoyance, understanding, desperation, and maybe a dozen others too intermingled too much to discern. “What is your price?” She said again.
As he thought about it, he felt her presence in his mind. He let his mind wander, his thoughts went to ancient knowledge of long dead wizards. Powers with which he could conquer and reshape the world. Then his thoughts went down more depraved paths with her, and he could feel ****’s anxiety.
With a **** of will, he willed her from his mind. Now with a modicum of privacy, he decided. Opening his eyes, “My price.” He let his words hang. He could see the goddess of **** shift anxiously.
Samar looked at where her eyes would have been and he grinned “I want to see you smile.”
The hood bobbed “I acce-“ her unseen eyes narrowed “wait, WHAT?” Seeing the Goddess of **** look so baffled was completely worth it.
Samar pressed his advantage “I want to see you smile. Not the vague impression that you show from beneath your cowl, I want to see you. I want to see it with whatever face you feel is your true one.”
He could feel the weight of her unseen eyes on him like a physical pressure “I have seen your mind, the thread of your thoughts, Why?”
“Power like that, it being gone from the world leads me to believe that it’s that way for a reason. For that other thing; thoughts wonder and that was something that can only be given and not bargained for.” He then shrugged “For the final reason, it’s you. This is something that needs doing. Just as caring for the dead needs doing.” Samar grinned at her “I know what it’s like being the middle child, so all I ask from you is to see you smile.”
He can see her shadow’s blush. As **** moved her hand to the cowl Samar looked away “nope, nooope payment only after the job is finished.” **** paused for a moment before nodding.
**** outlined the plan, in a certain city that had a certain champion of Meriva, the goddess of light, one who had launched many crusades against this Lich, one whom the Lich could not resist trying to drag into the Mortal world. Even though it was casually mentioned, the implications dawned on Samar that this was actually a pretty serious matter. Once he had the Amulet of Meriva, she would take him to the outside of the Lich’s sphere of influence. From there, he would need to get close to the Lich before unveiling his champion’s power.
Samar waited through her long-winded explanation. When she finally finished, he began his questions “you said that that power I would need to have died but I cannot die before getting there.”
Dee nodded “the Lich has killed many knights stronger than you, many whom serve her now. You will die many times before you get close enough.”Pursing his lips, Samar nodded, not the vacation after a honeymoon he had wanted. Cocking his head to the side “other than moving me directly is there a good way for me to get from place to place? I have the feeling I want to distance myself from your power as much as I can.”
Dee’s face was a still shadow for a moment before she collapsed in on herself, disappearing into a shadow. Moments later Solveig entered “She’s gone, does that mean you told her no?”
Samar shook his head “unfortunately no, this, this is something she needs help on.” His fingers intertwined with her and she rested her head against his. Softly Samar spoke, “think, think of it as a thank you to her for bringing us together. For-” he began, but she cut him off with a deep, passionate kiss. Before Samar knew it, Solveig had him on the ground, having used some of her strength. She was kissing him with the hot desperation of someone who knew she might never see him again. In a moment she had his Kilt pulled aside and pushed him inside of her. She began rocking over him at an urgent pace. Thoughts of pleasure were pushed aside for the simple need of being with him. Spilling into her Samar took her into his embrace, sharing it Samar could almost feel her thoughts of not wanting to let him go. They laid there for a while, staring into each other’s eyes.
With the thought of losing her warmth, Samar felt more conscious of the warmth that surrounded him. Aware of that now, he rapidly hardened within her. Giving a laugh that was a hair’s breadth from a sob, Solveig shook her head and began grinding against him without sitting up. Solveig’s tail wrapped around Samar’s hand, that same hand moved in and two fingers entered her ass. She gasped and her grinding sped up. Samar lasted a little longer and spilled into her again. Samar held her close. They were like that for a while, still grinding against each other until a breathy voice cleared her throat “are you finished.”
Samar looked away from Solveig to see shapely legs, and stole a peak into one fold, to see shadowy hints of a leg much like her face. Samar looked up to her shadowy, disapproving face. Samar felt his face heat, rapidly becoming the color of his hair “How long were you waiting there?”
There was a long, pained sign “I arrived part way through your last..” she let her words hang.
Discovering that he could in fact blush even harder, Samar struggled to come up with a witty response. On top of him Solveig began grinding on him again and purred, “I think she likes to watch.”
**** started “I was just giving you two time toegth-” she trailed off with a hiss of frustration.
Solveig gave Samar a heated look and began slithering her way down his body, kissing him as she went. Looking up to the Goddess of **** she smiled “I don’t mind sharing him.”
Samar looked to Dee to see what he thought might be her blushing. Feeling a familiar wet heat engulfing his member. Not needing to look to know Solveig has her lips wrapped around his member Samar watching **** for any expression. She didn’t blush and look away but she also didn’t avert her gaze. With a pop Solveig pulled way, she stood and walked before **** Samar watched from the floor as she stood before the Goddess and in a deep commanding voice “I expect you to take care of him, when I get him back I want him still be the man I love.” Samar stood and stepped beside Solveig, one arm wrapping around her. Her tail wrapped around that arm, holding him securely to her.
Samar could see the shadow of Dee’s face turn to a soft smile in her breathy whisper, “his adventure will be dangerous but I do not plan on losing him.” She paused in her fashion for a long moment. Just as Solveig to pressed into Samar, **** spoke again “as you have asked, I have gotten what you need for your quest.” She waved her hand and a pair of Opals the size of ostrich eggs with small rubies in the center appeared on the small table.
Samar gave Dee a look but Solveig let out a small gasp “are those” she looked incredulously at **** who nodded.
Samar gave the Gargoyle a questioning look “care to share?”
She nodded slowly “those are sending stones, small ones but with one you could open up a portal anywhere.”
Thoroughly confused, Samar gave her a look “didn’t Seltery, that mage use one of those?”
Solveig shook her head “that was a preexisting gate. In the armory we have something similar called a Way Stones, which opens a gateway between the two stones. These you could teleport anywhere in the world, imagine an assassin that only needs a rough sketch of a king’s bedchambers.” she paused before looking at **** “I thought there wasn’t any left. Where did you get these?”
****’s shadowy smile widened “I won them in a game.”
Both Samar and Solveig gave her a questioning look and **** let out a soft laugh “a lesser known talent of mine, I am also the mistress of games.” she looked to Solveig “not lady luck. Almost every shade, that passes through my gates tries to best me, with one game, or another.” Fixing her shadowy gaze upon Samar “a talent that you have gained as well.”
Solveig turned a glare on Samar, her fiery eyes making her all the more terrifying “so you cheated when we were playing cards.”
Samar tried to raise his hands in a defenseless gesture and was only somewhat successful. “I didn’t know, and it gave you an opportunity to ravage Pettra.”
Solveig’s scowl softens to a smile at the memory, and with mock seriousness, “I will give you a pass just this once.”
Samar gave her a grin “unless it involves you getting into the pants of more beautiful women?” Solveig let out a hungry purr and leaned against Samar. Giving her a kiss, Samar smiled “keep the girls warm for me.”
Solveig laughed, leaning in to Samar she purred, “be sure to get us a few cute women to join our harem.”
Letting go of Solveig with a smile, Samar stepped towards the pair of stones. Looking towards his Goddess she nodded towards the nearest “press the ruby and it will take you to the city, do that on the other and it will take you to your next destination. Luck, my champion.” with that she disappeared like a shadow.
Samar looked to Solveig. Her face had shifted. The loving wife from a moment ago gone, and in her place was the warrior there to prepare him to go. In silence they prepared him. The plan had involved traveling light. Clad in his kilt and armed with his sword. He took the stones and placed them in the folds of his kilt. Wrapping Solveig in his arms, Samar pressed his head against hers.
Letting her go, he stepped away and pressed into the ruby. Instead of feeling like he was pressing a ruby button, it felt more like breaking the shell of caramelized jelly. A portal opened up before him. A whirlpool of dark blue and piercing white opened up before him. Samar turned for one last glance at his love before felt himself get pulled through the gateway.
