Chapter 13: She Thought About Supporting Them
Delta talks too herself about her mother. But things get out of hand when too many voices start talking.
DELTA
"Yesterday was CYA. When I was there I was thinking that if I don't end up with the Christians at least I can stand beside them and fight for them. Protect them. Then today my mother sat me down for a conversation about money and my fiances. Telling me how I was in the WRONG! My own MOTHER! MY CHRISTIAN MOTHER! I will not stand beside the Christians! I WILL NOT STAND BESIDE THEIR GOD! I WILL NOT!" Delta explained and shouted.
Death sat nearby in a chair. "You've summoned me. Pulled me out of my cell in the back of your heart and or mind. Who is little old me? One of your darkest thoughts. Do you want me to speak some words to you or do you intend to waste our time by yelling your head off?"
"Speak, Death!" Delta snapped
"You summoned me because you wanted to hear me. One part of the Trinity Demon. So I am going to tell you what you want to hear. The plan that we dreamed of, do it. Kill our mother! Do it! She makes you a slave. This family makes you a slave. She belittles you! She makes you weak!"
"Yes," Delta said nodding in agreement. "They have chained me up. I have fought for this family. I have bought things for this family, gifts. I have stood by this family since day one! But I have been belittled and betrayed by them! I have wanted to be loved by them but I am instead cursed and made fun of because of my non-belief!"
Death clapped. "If you don't begin the plan then this cycle will repeat. You will think about standing beside them just to be reminded by your parents and others why you're wrong and why you are a sinner. So end the cycle of this abuse family-ship and abusive friendship."
"But they do love you!" Dawn stepped out of the shadows into the light. But instead of looking like her. She looked like Friday.
Delta shook her head no. "They do not. Love is a weakness. Family is a weakness. Today may be my birthday, July 2. But it is the worst birthday I have ever had. Because of my conversation with my Christian mother." Delta sighed. Shaking her head. "Still up to your parlor tricks I see Dawn? Wearing the face of my friend Friday?"
Cin came over to the group. "What Dawn is doing is necessary to win you back and away from Death's suicide mission. The suicide mission that 14-year old you all the way to 17-year-old you helped create. The plan to remove Christians and all of God's creation from the universe is flawed. Why? How? Because God is with them and is real. Look throughout history. Time and time again world leaders have tried to stomp and crush the Christians yet they have failed. Look at China today. Still trying to extinguish the light of the church. Yet the Chinese underground church is alive and kicking. Look to North Korea they are still trying to remove Christians yet are failing drastically at it. Do you really think you can take on the entire world, Delta? This isn't some fantasy dream plan. This is reality. You will get caught and sentenced for execution by lethal injection or firing squad. What 14-year-old you started was a stupid-hateful idea. To believe herself to be invincible and receive powers from Hell? This is insanity! Remember I am your better. Listen to your better."
"Okay yes, you're right, Cin!"
"No!" Death exclaimed. "She is not. I may be one of your darkest thoughts that you keep under lock and key. You may open my cell to examine me and the rest of Trinity Demon once in a while but I did not come here to lose to her so quickly."
Cin shrugged. "What can I say? I am good and persuasive."
Death began to speak. "I will tell you this Delta that-" Snap! Crack! Death's head twisted at an odd angle suddenly. She fell to the floor. Delta and Cin looked behind them at Dawn. She had snapped with her left hand and must have cast a spell of sorts to snap Death's neck.
Dawn snapped again. Then turned her hand to the side. CRACK! Cin's neck snapped. Cin fell to the floor. "That's better," She stated. Delta could see Dawn pondering. The girl had more to say to her. "We didn't believe. But then Hume Lake happened in 2017. We believed then. Took communion with them! Worshiped beside them! Got baptized! You made a promise to follow God forever!"
She didn't mean it but she felt like she needed to defend herself. "The Christians betrayed me!"
"NO! They did not! YOU BETRAYED THEM! The Christians were your family once. Then when you left they became your enemies. That's what you tell yourself, that they are your foes and you cannot trust them. And things have changed you've learned to tolerate them and live among them. You have improved. But let's look at why you left, shall we?"
"The Christians ruined me!"
"Sin ruined us! It ruined you! Too prideful to reach out and ask for help. So instead you would just ask in your head to God to be forgiven. But you wouldn't repent or change. You remained the same! Still attached to sin! Still attached to pornography! Because part of you loves being bad! Part of you loves that sin While another part of you hates yourself and it for falling for it over and over again!"
"That may be true. . .But. . .But the Christians didn't help me! God didn't help me!"
"Because of your pride! You pushed them away! You fought against sin and lust by yourself! Do you think lone wolfing will get you far?! When things got hard you quit being a Christian! You are a coward!"
"I know what this is!" Delta shouted. "Is this me self punishing myself?! In my head?! In my heart?! But I will not talk to me like this! I have created an empire! I have done so much for my flesh and blood family! I am better off without the weak Christians! I am strong! Stronger than them! I am their better!"
"What empire? A pile of MTG cards! Your fiances are gone like that!" Dawn snapped with her hands. "Gone! All of it! What happened to the Christian girl who talked about saving her money? What happened to the girl who was full of light? What happened to the non-believer who even talked about saving money? And when you said that you had been recently inspired by the Christians, things were happening. But you trying to run from them and walking away from them you've become a monster!"
"There was no light in me, to begin with!"
"Do you really believe that? Do you honestly hear yourself talk? Do you really see yourself as a villain? Do you really want to be one? What about goodness? What about purity? What about honor? What about love? What about family? What about God? You talk about how you're their better but you're weaker than them. And you know this! And it eats you up. Because you want to be powerful. You want power. You want love. You want to be good. You want family. Christianity gave you that. But what? It wasn't what you were expecting? Not what you like? The entire solar system doesn't exist to make you happy! So know this Delta! You may resist their God but whether as a non-believer or as a believer God will use you!"
"A non-believer then!" Delta snapped back.
"Funny you should say that with such malice and hate. Imagine if your best friend from Figment saw you. Imagine if Alison Roach was here. Your friend from Wattpad, Miss Roach, what if she saw you. What would they think of you?"
Delta had no clever or evil remarks to that. "They. . .they would be disappointed."
"Yes and they-" CRACK! Dawn fell to the floor. Making Delta jump. Death stood before her. Looking down at Dawn. "I do enjoy snapping people's necks."
"Enough of her voice. You want to hear mine. Remember me! Forget about what makes you weak! Forget them! Together we can kill everything!"
Cin and Dawn were back on their feet. Snapping with their fingers. Summoning their swords. Death summoned hers. Part of the floor between them opened up. Rising up a podium. With a dark heart and only a little white light visible. The heart seemed to be the size of three hearts. Death, Dawn, and Cin at the same time plunged their blade into the heart. Delta felt pain throughout her! "AAAAH!" She screamed in pain.
"She will listen to me!" Death shouted. She then twisted her blade a bit." Delta put her hands on the side of her head trying to protect her. But it was in vain. She still let out cries of pain. "It is through my actions or hers depending on how you look at it. That will bring this family greatness. That will make us powerful."
"She will not listen to you!" Dawn said pushing her blade in deeper.
"NO!" Delta screamed.
"You both are the past!" Cin shouted pushing her own blade in deep.
She stood up. Seeing the three of them with their swords. She snapped. Summoning her blade. Three pairs of eyes glanced in her direction. "QUIET!" She let out a war cry. Thrusting her sword forward into the heart. A shock wave emitted from her attack. Launching them all back. Sending them all flying into nearby walls. Delta groaned and so did the others. She stood up before they did. "I'll decide and lead us to greatness."
