Who should the princess speak to?
Chaplain Horacio
The princess was strong of faith, and had always found the gods merciful. She was no stranger to the palace chapel, so it felt natural to look for her answers there.
Liandra asked for Chaplain Horacio when she arrived. "I am sorry princess. He went to the city, to minister the passing rites on an old friend. He should be back shortly before dusk, if your highness would care to see him at that time" The idea of losing someone dear was horrible to Liandra, and she couldn't impose on him at such time "Don't worry... I am fine."
"Perhaps I would be able to help? It would be a pleasure to be of service." The young nun said, and Liandra noticed her ring didn't warn her of any lies... so she was really looking forward to help her!
"Well... I had a confession to make, and I was looking for Horacio's guidance. He has always been so kind to me" So she was guided to the confession box, a place of solitude where only the young nun would be able to hear her. The nun and the gods, that was.
"You can start whenever you want, Liandra. Listen to your heart, and you will know what to speak." Her voice was soft and caring, and Liandra though it even a little alluring.
"I had an orgasm" she said it abruptly, and could hear the Nun gasp. It must have been a sin even worse than she imagined!
"It felt... I never felt better, actually. Like I was walking on clouds, like I was swimming at the sea. But at the same time. I am not sure if I am making any sense..." of course she wasn't, and the Nun said words of caution "The Gods bless us with many gifts, but to abuse them is to invite their wrath."
"...i know" Liandra was meek and contrite. She hated the idea of living in sin. "Were you with a man when this happen?"
"Yes." Liandra against answered truthfully. "Then you are no longer a virgin. To glorify your broken maidenhood by exalting your pleasure is arrogance beyond measure, princess." The ring warned her of a lie, but Liandra though it was merely because she was downplaying it. The virgin princess had wondered if what she had done was sex. She had no way of knowing this nun had misinterpreted her.
"You should fast and pray for two days, princess. Know that many a man ruined a maiden even in their first night" A pause "was it your first night?"
"y-yes" Liandra was terrified.
"Still, you should see this rake no longer. Pray that you aren't with child, princess. Pray that the gods spare you the humiliation, and the dishonor" She was taking the words to heart and a part of her chided herself for the weakness. Of course such a good feeling couldn't be without a price.
The nun had much else to say, most of it words Liandra had heard before. Be chaste, modest, avoid be alone with men in compromising situations. Be faithful, obedient. Liandra remained at the chapel, praying forgiveness for her imagined slights.
So for three days she visited the chapel, spending long hours in penance. It wasn't particularly unusual for the princess to show such devotion, so the rumors remained modest. And of course, she avoided the bard Ludo at all times.
In the third day she couldn't hold it any longer. While she tried to keep her thoughts pure, it horrified her to acknowledge she was brooding an even darker sin inside her chest.
Her name was Patricia, and she was about Liandra's own age. She was pious, but friendly and understanding. She was elegant, kind, wise... but there was something else that attracted Liandra's attention whenever she though no one was looking.
"Horacio... I would like to make a confession" She eventually approached the Chaplain, the kindly old man that had always been her friend. "Of course, my daughter. how may i help?"
"I... I feel the weakness of the flesh again" the words degraded her, they went against her very pride. "You can speak at your own speed, don't worry Liandra. I wont judge you" her ring didn't warn her of lies, and she was so glad to know her friend truly cared for her.
"I feel it the most when I am alone with my thoughts. When I think she isn't looking." Liandra avoided touching the subject directly, but it was still obvious. "She?" he raised an eyebrow, but didn't show the outrage the princess expected.
"Sister Patricia" Liandra admitted, and expected to be chided. Instead she heard "Well, Sister Patricia is certainly a very beautiful woman. Gorgeous, even. " Chaplain Horacio reasoned.
"But she is a woman" Liandra objected "and so am I!"
Horacio laughed, with the joy that only the elder can sport unashamed. Liandra didn't find his touch appealing, but the caress had a tenderness that warmed her heart. "You have ripened long enough, Princess. I think it is time to teach you certain worldly arts."
What will be the first lesson? or Will Liandra back out?
