Change is drastic

Sarah wandered into the kitchen to find her father sitting at the table, looking equally puzzled and gloom at the same time. In front of him lay a stack of papers and some photos alongside a pen, pad, and several crumpled up sheets of paper balled into little torn up piles. It looked like he had been up for some time. "Rough night?"

Arron blinked a few times and then smiled weakly at her before he sighed and leaned back in the chair. "Been trying to figure things out, though I'm not too sure where your aunt got some of her stranger ideas." He handed her a small file. "You might as well look at it."

Sarah opened it and after a few moments of looking at each document, looked back up at her father and then back down at the paper. It took her eyes and brain a few moments to catch up to each other and when she finally found the ability to speak, the only words that came out of her mouth was "holy shit..."

Arron smirked a little. "Yeah, no kidding. In a strange way, though, I'm more her than me at the moment. Your aunt is good, VERY good. Hell, if it weren't me in that folder, I wouldn't have known." He closed his eyes and plopped his head down on the table. She wanted to say something about his hair flaying and spreading into the uneaten bit of egg but decided not to.

"So...you're telling me..."

"Yup. Say hello to Mia Andrews, nee Shimada. Age 36." He looked aside at his hands for a moment. "Hell, I don't think I look Asian...but maybe I do?"

Sarah decided not to go off on that, considering he was dark enough to pass (and his natural hair color was brownish black, very close and easy to mistake), and turned instead to looking at the job apps on the table. "What jobs are there?"

"Real Estate Saleswoman, Librarian at the High School, and Swim Instructor at the Girl's Academy."

_Nothing like back home..._was the unspoken ending to that statement but instead of dwelling on it, Sarah lifted her phone up. "Come on, dad, smile. The least we can do is send something to Marj, yes?"
