Champion barking at her

“Woof!”

The bark was accompanied by persistent scratching at the door, which Clarice could hear over the shower, dragging her from her tranquility. The dog was trying to get her attention so she could take him outside.

“Shit!” Clarice said, turning off the water.

It had been several hours since anyone had been home, so no one was there to take Champion outside. She had hurried so quickly to get into the shower that she hadn’t noticed Champion was waiting for her. Now she needed to take the dog into the backyard before she could do anything else.

Stepping out of the shower, Clarice walked over to the bathroom door and pulled it open. Champion immediately jumped on her, placing his paws on her shoulder and began licking her face. Champion was a big dog of indeterminate lineage, and Clarice struggled to stay standing.

“Okay, down boy,” she struggled to get out, “Down boy, I’ll take you outside.”

Once she got Champion off of her she looked around for something to wear before going outside.
