Cedric Diggory

"I don't know how to tell you this lightly," I said, "but I came here for you Diggory." Nobody had expected that answer. It seemed i had the upperhand for a moment.

"For me," said Diggory. Cedric was confused, thinking of all the reasons I would have business with him. He was never going to understand, I already knew that.

"I'll talk to you later," said Diggory to his friends. His friends walked away, none trusting my intentions.

"Come," said Diggory, "we can talk about the tournament while I make rounds." He was smart enough to know why I was here. And it seemed he was going to take me with him for his prefect duties. We left the common room quickly, and as I walked away I realized his first objective was to get me out of his houses walls. Cedric was more clever than I gave him credit for.

The Hufflepuff''s we passed seemed all too delighted of my departure. Soon enough we were gone from that corridor, now in areas where all students frequented.

"Now," said Cedric, "what is it you came to me for?" I walked beside him, seeing people look to him, and look to me in confusion. We were an odd pair. But it may be necessary, for a wolf to befriend the sheep.

"To be brief," I said, "I need an ally." He had likely figured it out, but putting it out there would allow this to go much quicker.

"Hello Cedric," said a passing Hufflepuff.

"Hello Molly," said Diggory. Cedric kept quiet for a bit, thinking on how to respond.

"You want to ally with me," said Cedric, "I just don't understand why. This seems like an obvious setup really." He looked at me, seeing that I was nearly insulted by his words. "I mean no offense."

We went down corridor after corridor, eventually climbing down stairways till we found ourselves in the dungeons.

"My house will back me," I said, "at least they will when they see Cho Chang back me." I saw his eyes dilate when I mentioned Cho Chang, that was interesting. "But one house in a school of four isn't enough. You better believe Beauxbatons is united, and Durmstrang too. But us Diggory, we have one house that will surely back us, and then three houses who can do what they please." I had his interest, that was most of what I needed.

We walked into a corridor with horrible lighting. We would have to speak in the dark for a bit.

"I could go to Slytherin, and ask for their assistance. But you don't make a deal with the devil, and then wonder why you found yourself in Hell." He seemed to agree with that.

"I could go to Gryffindor. But Potter doesn't need help. He's too manipulative, and if he gets any steam in this tournament, Potter and his fans will crush us both." I could see a little disagreement in Cedric's eyes, but he held his tongue.

"What are you two doing together," asked a random Slytherin as she passed? We paid her no mind.

"This just seems too convenient," said Diggory, "you of all people asking for an alliance with Hufflepuff." Cedric laughed to himself. Which pissed me off to no end. He didn't trust me? I was never someone who lied to others. I was always forthcoming with my manipulation of people. "you know how hard it would be to explain to my house why we are helping you?"
