Catwoman reflects on her failed heist

Catwoman was miserable. She had been planning her heist for weeks and now that damned Supergirl had ruined it. She hoped that the bomb she had planted had caused her some serious pain. It wasn’t enough to kill her, she didn’t want the full wrath of the Justice League upon her, just to give them a second thought the next time she was carrying out a robbery.

To try and cheer herself up she’d been out in the city. She looked in her pouch, rifling through the shiny trinkets she’d pilfered that evening. All fine, but nothing as desirable as the Cat’s Eye Diamond. The petty thefts weren’t helping to cheer her up so she decided to call it a night and go home. She ran silently across the rooftops, swinging across gaps with her whip, unaware of the sinister, leather clad figure watching her from the night sky above.

Selena stopped on the rooftop to her building. She always made a quick stop here to check if she’d been followed. She looked up and saw some of the familiar stars were obscured. Something was up there and it was moving towards her in the night sky. Catwoman instinctively ran, jumping off the high building to avoid whatever it was that was stalking her.

She landed on a fire escape and dodged inside the building, running through corridors and out the other side. From building to building she scampered, completely silent, using all the skills she had. Eventually, miles away from home, she stopped on the roof of an apartment building. Out of breath but convinced no-one could have followed her she looked up. The figure was there, closer than ever.

Now she could make out the form or her pursuer. It was feminine, very curvaceous, and clad in all black with a dark cape flowing out behind her. Slowly the woman descended towards her. Selena knew at this point the running was pointless so she bared her claws and prepared for a fight.

“There will be no need for that Catwoman,” purred the beautiful woman. “I’m here to give you an opportunity, to repay you for what you did to me.”

“What I did to you? I’ve never seen you before. Who are you?” asked Selina.

“Ah, you don’t recognise me. Understandable. I have gone through something of an evolution thanks to the Cat’s Eye Diamond and your Kryptonite laced bomb.”

“Supergirl? Is that you? Wait, did you say the Cat’s Eye Diamond? Do you have it?”

“It is part of me. We are one being. I have become something quite wonderful. More powerful and freed of my petty morals. Supergirl is no more. I am Kara, Vessel of the Cat’s Eye Diamond. My offer is this. Stand beside me, carry out my will and great power will be yours.”

“What? No. You’re crazy Supergirl. I don’t want any part of your madness. Go home to Superman and he’ll cure you.” said Selina. She knew about the legends of the Cat’s Eye Diamond and what it had done to it’s previous owners. The stories put Caligula to shame. She had wanted to steal the diamond but knew how easy it was to fall under it’s thrall, and now Supergirl was talking about it being inside her! What had she done?! Was she responsible for turning the world’s strongest superheroine into this creature of darkness? The temptation to join her was definitely there but Selina wasn’t stupid and she valued her independence more than anything. She was no-one’s lackey.

“Very well. If you won’t join me willingly I shall remake you into my willing servant.” hissed Kara, her eyes starting to glow bright yellow.

The beams washed over Catwoman, blinding her. There was a bright flash and Selina was knocked to the ground. She stood up slowly, pulled off her goggles and opened her eyes. They were bright yellow with the same cat like slits possesed by Kara. She smiled, revealing a sharp pair of fangs.

“Oh god, it’s wonderful. I feel magnificent. Why did I resist? This is wonderful!” purred Catwoman, approaching her new mistress. Kara took hold of her and pulled her in for a deep kiss.

“I feel like I’ve been remade. My very soul has been corrupted. It’s like nothing I’ve felt before. I feel so… wicked!” said Selina pulling away for a second.

“It’s wonderful isn’t it?”

“Yes my mistress. Will I be your only ****?” asked Selina sheepishly.

“I think there’s plenty of me to go around, but for now you have me all to yourself.”

“Purrrrfect.”
