Cathy the border collie

Her footpaws shuffled nervously on the hardwood floor, making antsy tugs on the hem of her pajama shirt as she approached her roommate. The serval stood poised, paws behind her back and large ears at attention, waiting for the border collie to advance.

Cathy finally met the feline's gaze. She knew what this was about, and had been dreading the time when either of them thought to bring it up again, but instead of the stern disapproval she was expecting to see on her face, Jada seemed almost eager.

Genuinely contrite, the collie tucked her tail between her legs. "Listen, Jad, about your car..."

"I know, Cat. We've been over this, but, before I forgive you, I think you need a bit of punishment, and Halloween seemed like the perfect opportunity." The serval's pale eyes crinkled mischievously.
