[Flash back]

"Something wrong?"

Jubilee shrugged at Alison as she looked around. "I dunno... the place gives me the creeps for some reason..."

Laura nodded looking around the bar. "You too? Good it ain't just me then. *Sniff, Sniff* Something stinks... literally."

Alison nodded and jerked her thumb over her shoulder. "Yeah... one of the bathrooms is 'out of order' apparently. Big sign and everything. Who picked this dive?"

Jubilee rolled her eyes and stared at the perpetrator as Tabitha, bent over, shook her ass by the jukebox loading up the machine. "Take a guess... and that's what I don't like, you know?"

Alison sighed. "I mean I appreciate trying to keep it low profile sometimes and I should take it back. This place is nicer than some of our usual dives-"

Jubilee snapped her fingers and Laura nodded. "That's it, Ali!" They said in unison.

Alison blinked. "What?"

Jubilee crossed her arms nodding. "It's not disreputable enough to be a "dive"..."

Laura grinned. "... and not upscale enough to be "trendy", It's too... boring."

Alison looked around. "Okay... now that you mention it... it is rather-"

Tabitha slammed down a bunch of drinks she'd gotten at the bar. "There's like almost nothing good on the jukebox over there... just the old stuff... and it was hard to find even those!" She pointed up as "Louie Louie" played. "But the good news is that the sign didn't lie. Ladies night two for one specials! Down the hatch!" She immediately started downing shots looking around scoping out the patrons. "Yes boneable, no, no, yes, maybe, hell no -"

"And they call me an animal," Laura muttered as Jubilee rolled her eyes and Alison giggled. Laura grinned though. "Speaking of... who's your new guy Jubes? I can smell him all over you and you seem hot to trot."

Jubilee blushed but grinned. Tabitha stared at her as Alison clapped her hands saying, "Oh good! Yes please do share. Jono? No. Some one from one of the teams?"

Jubilee laughed and rubbed the back of her neck after taking a drink. "How to say this? They're someone you know actually, Alison..."

Alison blinked. "That doesn't narrow it down much. Personally or professionally? And why so cagey about answering? We're happy for you!"

Laura grinned taking a drink. "Especially since you're obviously having fantastic sex!" When they stared at her she tapped her nose again.

"What? No way! Awesome!" Tabitha grabbed her into a one arm hug as Jubilee blushed crimson. "Awwww you gotta dish! Do they have a brother? How about a friend? My last couple guys were duds... all spark but no boom!"

Jubilee laughed. They got on her nerves sometimes... but they really were good friends! "Well... Ali do you remember... Walt?"

"Walt?" Alison tilted her head trying to remember. Then her eyes got real wide. "Big Walt? Cowboy Walt?! He's back?" She grabbed Jubilee's hands excitedly. "You and him? Really?! That's fantastic!"

"Who's Walt?" Laura asked followed by Tabitha asking, "Is he a mutant?"

"He's uhh well..." Jubilee started hesitantly.

Alison dove right in happy to dish. "He was this totally hunky big cowboy type who we used to be friends with. He was always visiting and being a big help and friend even though he never joined up with X-Men or the other teams. Nice guy and great with the younger kids! Jubilee had a not so secret crush on him forever ago! Proffesor X always treated him like a mutant though it's unclear if he was a mutant or not."

"Oh ho!" Tabitha grinned teasing Jubilee. "An older guy, huh? Is that what sets your fuse off, little firecracker? You like a "hot older dad type"?"

Jubilee growled. "If I did, I'd at least I have a type unlike you!"

Tabitha grinned not taking any offense. "I totally have a type!"

Laura laughed. "Yeah. "Bangable" or not." They all started laughing not noticing as people started approaching them with great interest. They'd drawn a crowd.

"Did you ladies say, 'Mutant'?" "Who's a mutant?" "I heard one of them say "Proffesor X" and "X-Men"!" "Hey that one looks familiar... ain't that Dazzler!"

The girls got a slowly sinking feeling as they attracted a lot of attention from the other patrons now... all of them infact. Jubilee didn't like the look of this at all...

[Present]

"...and then after Walt made up with Scotty with candy and he told Scotty to punch him back... and when he did Walt smiled and told Scotty he still hit like a bitch. Then I was hungry so we got churros and came home!"

Jen nodded chuckling at Jubilee. "I see... that's definitely a longer and stranger explanation to the "why did you get churros?" question, than I expected."

Walt grinned from where he stood at the stove. "Chocolate and cheese's almost done melting, ladies... then we can fondue."

Jubilee squealed. "Gwen's totally missing out! She shoulda stayed!"

Walt shook his head. "I wish she had but I'm glad she didn't... she and her dad are making up for lost time and while she's here she wants to spend time with him before going to Prime..." and he smirked. "Plus I served Gwen chocolate and cherries in bed the other night."

Jubilee almost choked on her hot cocoa and Jen laughed. "Gotcha!"

"Dude! *Cough* Wha?" Jubilee said wiping at her mouth.

Walt nodded. "Cause yer being a bit cocky about a situation that coulda gone worse! I'm not saying that we shouldn't celebrate a win over those mutant hating morons," he glances Shogo's direction, "I was happy to tell them Alpha Mike Foxtrot but that situation could have gone a whole nother way and don't forget it. What if yall hadn't been able to get away? What if they found yall before I did? Logan's off having a 'nice friendly chat' with the ones they picked up... but it could gone the other way too Jubes!" He took a deep breath and hugged her. "I don't ever want that for you... never again!"

Jubilee smiled and hugged him back. "I know... sorry. It scares me too to be honest but what's that you always say? What helped me get through that when I was a kid?"

Walt nodded and sighed. "Can't control someone else's fears, only your own... yeah. It's true. The thought of that scares me for you more than it does yourself... and you did really good Jubes! I'm sorry."

Jen smiled. She could read between the lines. Jubilee as a youngster had gotten captured before and things had not gone well for her... and that scared Walt far more then her being in trouble when he was around. "But everything did sort of work out... I'm sorry I missed it."

Jubilee laughed and jumping up hugged Jen. "You were here with my Shogo! That was such a comfort to me! Thank you, Jen!" She whispered in her ear. "How'd it go?"

Jen blushed but hugged her back whispering, "Amazing!"

Jubilee laughed and kissed her cheek. "I'm so happy for you!" She whispered. Then she hopped down. "So what did I miss?"

Walt smiled and exchanged looks with Jen who shrugged. "We played with Shogo, swam, lay in the sun, and had dinner watching a movie."

Walt grinned. "The Muppet Movie. We were just starting on a second watch through for Shogo when you called. Fondue is ready."

Jubilee laughed. "Ok maybe not romantic but-"

"No," Jen said kissing Walt's cheek. "It was very romantic all things considered... and it's not over yet!" She reached out and grabbed Jubilee's and Walt's arms.

"Sounds good to me!" Jubilee said also grinning catching on quick and picking up Shogo. "Pick us out another clean but fun movie, Walt! A wacky one!"

"What?" He said trying to keep up and not drop the fondue.

"And a splash of romance too!" Jen requested.

"Huh?" Walt said. "Ooohhh kaaay... tall order..." he nodded. "How about "Bringing up, Baby"?"

Jubilee smiled. "Is that the Hepburn one with the leopard? Perfect!"

Jen nodded chuckling. "That'll do!"

"Is he actually asleep?"

Jubilee grinned at Jen nodding. "Walt is very susceptible to the sleepy effect of holding someone who's sleeping... and kids are extra potent! Try it for yourself sometime when you can't sleep. It's super effective! I think it's pretty endearing... maybe because he spent so much time always on gaurd?"

Jen laughed. "Like this he doesn't look like a super badass at all! Whoops sorry."

Jubilee laughed. "It's fine when Shogo's sleeping but don't get into a habit... anyway, that's Walt. He's not just a secret super badass... he's a genuinely good person." She smiled at Jen. "He fulfill your wish?"

Jen blushed but nodded... a lot grinning. "He sure F-ing did!"

Jubilee smiled. "Good! And... did you fulfill his?"

Jen blushed even more and nodded once. "I think so... I told him I... but I feel bad! What if I didn't... what?"

Jubilee laughed. "Sorry but the look on your face makes it so obvious! But hey if you need time figuring it out for yourself, take your time figuring it out... but the answers looking pretty obvious to me from where I'm sitting." She looked pointedly at where Walt holding Shogo were leaning against Jen... and Jen had her arm around them.

Jen smiled at his sleeping face. "It kinda is isn't it? Or... at least for him."

Jubilee nodded. She looked back at where they paused the movie. "Well... what do you want to do, Jen? We can put the boys to bed... together?" Jen blushed but smiled. "Or," Jubilee said. "We can continue my girls night with friends?"

Jen nodded... then shrugged. "Why not both?"

Jubilee laughed. "Oh, I was hoping you'd say that!" She picked up Shogo. "I'll get this one to bed and get us some drinks and then we can dish until Walt wakes up... or we decide to wake him up!"

Jen shook her head chuckling quietly. "She really is a good kind of trouble." She dipped a churro in the chocolate and nibbled but she was alone with Walter... she looked at his sleeping face and decided to make him a little more comfortable. He looked... much younger in his sleep. Like a dashing prince... except for the chocolate on his lips. His lips... She leaned in and kissed his lips and-

Jubilee smiled staring directly at her. "...Well?"

Jen swallowed and nodded. "I'm thinking about it. Let's... talk first..."
