What's next?
Catch the glass
You surge forward, your Essence manifesting as a dense, invisible cushion of force. The glass doesn't shatter. It doesn't even spill a drop. It stops dead about three inches below the precipice of the counter, held upright by an impossible, spectral grip.

The kitchen goes dead silent.
Cherie stares at the glass, her breath coming in shallow hitches. She reaches out, her fingers hovering an inch away, but she doesn't touch it. She can feel the cold radiating from your hold—a focused, purposeful chill.
Alexis, however, doesn't look shocked. She looks triumphant. She walks over, standing right beside her sister, her eyes locked on the space where your hand would be.
"See?" Alexis whispers, her voice thick with delight. "He’s a gentleman, Cherie. He won't even let you make a mess. He's looking out for you."
Cherie continues to stare, wide eyed, as you slowly move the glass back onto the counter.
Cherie slowly looks up at her sister, then back at the glass. The fear is there, but beneath it is a massive surge of that "wonder" you’ve been cultivating. "How... how is it doing that?"
"He," Alexis corrects her firmly. She reaches out and runs a finger along the rim of the glass, feeling your energy. "He is doing it. And I think he likes it when you're... responsive."
Alexis turns her head slightly, as if speaking to the air. "You have a name, don't you, gorgeous? Or should we just keep calling you the 'Helpful Shadow'? I'm pretty sure you don't want us to call you Casper the Friendly Ghost."
