Carrie goes upstairs

This chapter takes place from Carrie's POV

Several hours have passed as Carrie wakes up, her mind filled with thoughts. Sylvia clearly desires a special relationship with her son, but it’s obvious that she will never act on it on her own. Carrie thinks about how you could try to seduce her, but ultimately she decides it might just be easier to take the bull by the horns and confront Sylvia directly. Carrie slips her red dress back on and smiles at the sight of you sleeping peacefully. She picks up the black panties and carefully leaves the bedroom. She makes her way into the hallway and back up the stairs, where the pleasant smell of a fresh pot of coffee fills the air. Carrie rounds the corner and sees Sylvia sitting at the kitchen table, wearing the same outfit as yesterday evening.

“Good morning, Sylvia,” Carrie says with a warm smile.

“Oh, good morning, sweetheart!” Sylvia says excitedly. “How did you sleep?” she continued.

“I think I slept pretty well. How about you?” Carrie says.

“I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep after I went to bed, but eventually I fell asleep,” Sylvia says,

“Well, at least you fell asleep eventually,” Carrie says. “Last night was pretty fun. I really enjoyed watching that movie with you. Our conversation after was frankly quite nice, too.” She continued.

“Yeah… I said some stuff I probably shouldn’t have,” says Sylvia. “But I guess that was the loneliness trying to break out.”

Carrie looks at her with a slight frown. "You said last night you don’t think there’s a man out there for you… I think you’re wrong.” She says. “Are there any guys you’ve had a crush on that fit your preferences?”

Sylvia blushes at the question. “Well, yes, there is one man who I think about from time to time, but the likelihood of me ever being able to form that kind of relationship with him is very poor.”

Carrie, knowing she just made some incredible progress, pushes a little harder. "Oh, really? Who is this mystery man? Maybe I could help you, kind of like a wingman,” she giggles.

Sylvia clearly looks a little stressed. “I don’t think you’d be able to help me with this one, my dear. Though I appreciate the offer.” She says in a defeated tone.

“Aww come on. I’m sure whoever it is would jump at the opportunity. You’re an incredibly beautiful woman, and any man would count his blessings by being able to wake up next to you,” Carrie says, being a bit more forceful than she originally intended.

Sylvia’s face turns bright red. "While I agree with you, I don’t know if that’s how it would go with this man.” She says.

“Sylvia." Carrie's tone getting serious, "I think I have a solid guess at who this mystery man is… and I want you to know that if it is him… I want to help you,” Carrie says.

Sylvia’s eyes go wide, clearly unsure of how to respond. She could only muster a peep, “how?”

Carrie slowly raises the black panties that they found last night. “I know these panties aren’t from a previous girlfriend of your son’s, Sylvia. They were a little damp last night. The smell of your perfume filled the room. You missed the first ring of the doorbell yesterday. I think you were in your son’s bedroom when we arrived,” she says. “Am I right?”

Sylvia, looking defeated and ashamed, “yes… that’s all true… I’m a disgusting mother.” She says, on the brink of tears.

Carrie reaches over to put a hand on her shoulder, “hey hey, it’s ok.”

The room is filled with a deafening silence until it’s broken by Carrie, “so… do you want me to help you get what your heart desires?”

Sylvia looks Carrie in the eyes. A determined look on her face. “Yes. I want your help”
