Carrie goes shopping

“I guess I’m going shopping,” says Carrie. “I’ll call in at the restaurant on the way. I can sound Maud out and also get the full story from Jane about her night with Antoine.”

You both start to get ready for the day. You check your computer to see what’s in your calendar. A few routine meetings in the morning. There’s not much in the afternoon, but you can see a new meeting invite.

1400-1500: 1-2-1 Catch Up by Zoom: Kim

“I’ve a meeting invite from Kim for this afternoon. Do you think I need to toss the coin?” you call out to Carrie who’s getting ready to go out in the other room.

“What do you think?” she answers.

“Have you heard from her since yesterday afternoon?” you ask. Kim had watched all of the action when you had fucked Jane in front of Carrie.

“Not a peep,” says Carrie. “Maybe you should ask her for an agenda.”

That makes you smile. “Good plan.”

You tentatively accept the meeting adding a message.

You: Please provide an agenda and any papers ahead of the meeting.

You start to work through your inbox. You see a reply come in from Kim.

Kim: I’ll send the agenda and papers to your personal mailbox during the morning, ok?

You accept the meeting to indicate you’re happy with that and then get back to work.

Carrie comes through. She’s dressed in a summer dress and converse sneakers.

“I’m going to get breakfast at Fresh,” she says.

“Don’t you have classes to take?” you ask.

“The studio texted to say they hadn’t been able to book another space and there wasn’t that much interest in Zoom, so I have the morning off. They’re going to let me know what’s happening this afternoon when they know.”

With that she kisses you on the lips, then steps away so you can’t grab hold of her.

“But you need to work and I’m not going to let you mess up my outfit.”

With that she skips out the door and is gone. You’re left sitting at your keyboard wondering what will happen next.
