Carol does surprisingly well

"Hi, I'm your grandmother, Carol." Carol greeted and waited a moment for May's gaze to flick over to her. Meeting to the best of her abilities, a smile formed the grandmother's face. "It's nice to meet you."

May rolled her eyes, but closed the distance. Wrapping her arms around Carol's elderly body, that was met with Carol doing the same for a short yet sweet embrace.

"It's nice to meet you, Carol." May answered and looked away. Muttering something at the air, her gaze turned back to Carol. "I'm guessing you recently reconnected with my mom?"

Carol nodded. While technically a lie, May didn't need to know that in the slightest. If anything, it was better that way.

"You could say that." Carol cooed, holding in her chuckling. Getting a look from May for that remark, she let that slide. Bringing attention to that gesture was bound to backfire in spectacular fashion. "So what brings you home?"

May looked away.

"I heard a rumor that my friend Ash was somewhere in Hoenn, so I decided to come back home and see if there was somehow truth to that." May announced and Carol reluctantly nodded. Breaking away, she needed to talk to Caroline.
