Carlos (Epilogue)

Carlos was praised as a hero by the governor himself. But he wasn't built for the limelight, and he eventually moved with Carrie to a small town along the border. She wasn't a big fan of the older, portly Mexican man, but he did save her. He became the town sheriff, and she became his housewife. She bore his children and was completely domesticated. Indeed, by the time you finally found where she lived and paid her a visit, she barely recognized you. She was so well tanned you thought she was a Mexican wife, and she spoke only Spanish with her large, burgeoning household of Mexican children.
