Candace makes a new "helpful" acquaintance instead

Candace felt completely overwhelmed by the small crowd of people, all pointing their phones at her. She wanted to run away and hide, but felt rooted to the spot by fear and indecision. How in the hell had she ended up like this? Naked and surrounded by a crowd in the campus dining hall. Eventually, one voice cut through the crowd.

"Oh my goodness!" a nearby girl said, upon noticing the naked girl standing there, covering her privates with only her hands. "Do you need help?"

For a moment, Candace could hardly believe she'd heard those words. She immediately tried to seize the opportunity.

"Y-yes!" she cried out, noticing the short bespectacled brunette who was now standing beside her. "Yes please, I could really use some clothes."

"Don't you worry," the girl said, "I heard all about your situation and I'm going to do everything I can to help!"

With that, she pulled off her backpack and unzipped it. She began rummaging through it and soon pulled out a black sweater. Candace's heart soared. She could hardly believe it! Finally, someone was going to lend her some clothes. But her elation soon turned to confusion when the girl simply dropped the sweater to the floor and continued rummaging around in her backpack.

"Here we go!" she triumphantly declared a moment later, holding up a notebook and marker. "Now we can start making signs so people can know what your publicity stunt is for!"

"Publicity stunt?!" Candace said, shocked. "But I-I'm not... Uh, could I actually just borrow..."

While the girl had been flipping through her notebook, Candace tentatively reached down to grab the forgotten sweater. But before she could, the glasses wearing girl snatched it back up.

"No, no, no. Don't lose heart now!" she said, stuffing the shirt back in her backpack. "The naked angle certainly works to draw people's attention. You just need a clearer way for them to know what your cause is! Oh, I'm Whitney, by the way!"

"I, uh... Candace," the naked girl awkwardly said, still more than a bit bewildered.

"Nice to meet you Candace!" she enthusiastically replied, already scribbling on paper with her marker. She ripped the page out of the notebook and began taping it up on the nearby wall behind Candace before starting in on another page. "And don't worry, I'll help make sure everyone on campus sees and hears about your fundraising drive!"
