Can I Get A Witness ?

"Witness ?" asked Debbi incredulously. "Yes" answered Laura, who correctly assumed that Debbi had not bothered to read the small print regarding this scheme, which would enable Laura to lie with impunity. "It was all clearly explained in the small print that because of the exceptional benefits of this scheme, the insurance company required another witness besides the doctor to countersign that all procedures had been properly completed." "Uh, I don't have anyone" replied Debbi, flustered. "Most people bring a spouse or we can have one of the practice nurses stand in" continued Laura. "But of course since you have come out of hours, the nurses have all left." "What can I do ?" asked Debbi as she stood there awkwardly in her naked state. "My friend Carol gave you a lift here I think ? I know Carol's kind nature and I'm sure she would not mind witnessing" replied Laura. "But I can't do that, she works for me for goodness sake !" "Then I guess we have to terminate the process" said Laura with finality.

Debbi was in a complete quandary. She wanted the benefits of this scheme and she did not want to appear stupid in the eyes of her boss Jeff for screwing up this simple admin task that everyone else had evidently accomplished easily. "Alright" she surrendered. "Carol it'll have to be." "Good, now we can continue and the first thing is to get you weighed and measured. I forgot there are no scales in this room, so we'll have to go down the hall." "But I'm naked !" squealed Debbi. "There's nobody here except Carol and she's your witness anyway" said Laura firmly, guiding Debbi to the door.

Carol looked up from her magazine gleefully as the door opened and Laura came out, leading Debbi who was completely in the nude. She quickly pressed the camera shutter on her phone which was lying by her side and hoped it captured some kind of shot. She feigned surprise as Laura explained the situation to her. "But of course. I'll be happy to help Deb out of a fix, especially with this all being so hopelessly last minute." Debbi felt left out of this exchange and dangerously exposed in this public space. The lights were on and the reception had floor to ceiling windows which faced the car park. It was almost empty but there were a couple of other cars still there besides Carol's and presumably Laura's. "We just need to take Debbi down the corridor to be weighed and measured. No need for a witness for that, we'll collect you on the way back and you can join us for the rest of the examination."

"Happy to be of use" said Carol, managing to keep a straight face. She was able to take more time over a photo of Debbi's rear as they headed towards the corridor. She looked at her phone.
