Can’t Take the Heat…

The Darmanitan quickly takes a deep breath,then spews out small flicks of Ember towards the Zoroark, who managed to duck out of the way to all but one that stuck him on his shoulder.

“Damn!” Neku muttered, nearing his fangs as he looks towards the Darmanitan who has steam.

“If you think I’m going to just let you burn the kitchen and the church down, think again!” The fire type announced, clenching his large fist.

“You can’t believe that this is worth protecting?!” Neku stated, “Pokemon came here hoping to find peace from the chaos outside and they don’t know that they might not be able to see the next sunlight!”

“And if we lose this place, no one will have a place to get peace!” The Darmanitan argued back, gripping his palms into a fist, “If this church is gone, there won’t be any place where anyone can feel peace!” He moves forward, raising his arms up before slamming them down.

Neku was able to move out of the way, but the prep table that was behind him collapsed to the ground from the Darmanitan’s strength. The Zoroark sweated as he saw that he was strong, and with his fist clenching and shaking, it’s clear that the fire type can’t be reasoned with.

With the collapsed table, each of them have their clear line of attack to each other. The two move around the table, keeping their opponent in their line of sight.

The fire type pulled his arm back, his fist igniting in flames as he took a swing at the Zoroark, who managed to dodge it; thanks from the Darmanitan‘s last attack taking a lot of energy, slowing him down a bit.

“So be it then.” Neku responded, closing his eyes as a dark aura surrounded the Zoroark before he opened his eyes once more, opening his mouth as a shockwave of darkness launched to the fire type, hitting him in the chest, but not making him move so much.

“It’ll take more than that to stop me!” the Darmanitan exclaimed before taking another swing at the Zoroark, his fist encased with flame. Neku moved to the side, avoiding most of the impact, be he was caught to the waist, growling from the pain and heat. He can still feel the impact, but it wasn’t enough to leave a burn as he launches towards him, sinking his fangs into the Darmanitan’s neck in a series of chomps who howled in pain before he can grab the Zoroark and toss him back.

Neku caught his footing just as the flaming ape leaped up into the air and launched a stream of fire towards Neku, who barely had time to leaped up into the air. He then takes the Darmanitan’s arms and throw him to the ground, causing the area to get covered in dust and envelope the two.

Neku coughed a few time as he fans the area with his arms, trying to clear out the area of the dust. Soon he would be able to see the Darmanitan, but instead of his usual red fur and flaming eyebrow, he now takes a form of a stone statue, with his eyes shifting to pure white.

“Seems now you shifted into your zen mode?” Neku stated, using the wooden shelves behind him to sharpen his claws as the Darmanitan said nothing.

“You should know now that since you’re in that state, you’re now a duel fire/psychic type, which is a real problem with me being a dark type.” he stated, moving to the right slowly. “You can’t win against me now. Fighting will only prolong your defeat and forfeit your chance of escape. You want the chance to live? Leave. Now.” He stated, waking in front of the spice cabinet. “Last chance.” he warned darkly.

The stone Pokemon doesn’t give an answer, instead his eyes glowed a bright blue. Neku tenses up, but looked confused. ‘Psychic type moves are useless with dark types! What is he planning?’ Neku thought to him as he stared on at his still glowing eyes, but not feeling any psychic sensation on his body at any point. The Zoroark’s eyes widened as he…
