Can't Go Back (CW)

Kenny and Kailyn gathered up the remaining dishes from breakfast, and while Kenny started to scrub the dishes clean at the sink, Kailyn worked on putting the cooking ingredients back into the cupboards. The boys had made a bit of a mess in their hurry this morning, so the pair did genuinely have their work cut out for them. Regardless, Kailyn's focus wasn't on the cleanup; it was on Kenny. The air of uncertainty and awkwardness was killing her now, she didn't want him to regret what they had done last night, but if he did, she had to make sure to tell him it was okay.

Kailyn waited in silence until JJ finally made his way out into the hot tub room, and with that, the brunette made a line to the living room, "I'm going to quickly toss the blanket into the wash while they're outside before someone sees something or...smells anything."

The coyness in Kailyn's voice made Kenny let out a breathy laugh and nodded with rosy cheeks, "Good thinking." As Kailyn walked away, Kenny let out a long exhale, bracing himself on the counter, "Crap...I'm so fucking ruining this..." He whispered under his breath, "First time I'm with a girl, and I'm absolutely butchering it, but JJ and everything are just -- Ugh."

Kailyn grabbed the blanket off the couch, giving the furniture a quick once over and making sure there wasn't any lingering evidence of their fun from last night, and quickly headed over to the small washer and dryer stacked behind a hall's closest door. She tossed the blanket into it in a flash and turned it on, "And if anyone asks, we just spilled a drink on it last night during the movie." She confidently hummed to herself before her smile dipped, "I wonder if he'd be like this if it were Rachel he was with last night."

Kailyn shook away the thought; it wasn't the first time a bout of jealousy had reared its ugly head over her best friend. Rachel was a beautiful girl, and all the boys loved her; it only made sense that Kenny had a massive crush on her all his life. But every so often, whenever she was facing any particular insecurity or troubles with guys, Kailyn couldn't help but feel a bit bitter that Rachel never had to struggle. Kailyn didn't have guys tripping over each other for her; she didn't get the drooling looks, and even if she wasn't ever going to be a party girl, sometimes all she wanted was just a few for herself. An acknowledgment that she was, at the very least, just as desirable as Rachel White was, and apparently, Kenny was the guy her mind decided to pick to find out that answer. If he could want her, treat her to the same kind of lust that he would give Rachel, she'd be great. Not to mention...Kailyn was quite happy to be playing around with JJ's best friend in general.

Nevertheless, there was one starkly more important thing that outweighed all the selfish needs she was feeling in regard to Kenny. He was so close to her, and if last night was an overstep, Kailyn would be damned before she let it ruin their close relationship. Returning to the kitchen, she found Kenny still standing over the sink, head hanging low. Her brown eyes filled with deep concern, and she quickly walked over to the teen, giving his shoulder a light poke, "Hey...are you okay, Kenny?"

"Hmm?" Kenny shook out of his trance, "Oh, yeah, I'm fine!" He **** on a smile, "I just got caught up in thought; no worries."

"You don't seem fine," Kailyn took a small step back, keeping a respectful distance, "And I think I know why."

"You do?"

"It's about last night."

"Yeah..."

"Look, let me be utterly clear with you. I don't want to ever put you in an uncomfortable position Kenny. You like family to me -- er, poor choice of words there -- but you get my point! You mean so much to me, Kenny, and I don't want to strain our relationship,"

"I don't want that either, but --"

"And definitely would never want to bring harm to your friendship with JJ."

"Of course, I'd hate to even think about that too; we --"

"Last night was a moment of -- I'm not sure what to call it. I think I just liked the idea that you could want me that way, even if you really didn't."

"W-Wha... Kai, I absolutely --"

"I know I jumped you without any kind of warning. I talked you into things because...I don't know, Kenny, you're very sweet. I know that you're a few years younger than me, but you've always been mature. You try to do the right thing, and that compassion and understanding are very attractive."

"Oh...uh, thanks? I've never had someone --"

"And I know that I'm just JJ's boring big sister; I'm not Rachel or any of you other amazing sweet friends I'm sure you have."

"Kai, don't talk like that; if you just let me --"

"I followed a feeling last night, some sort of hidden desire, I think."

"Hidden desire? That wasn't the first time you wanted to do something like that with me?"

"Wanted you to want to do something like that with me is the better way to put it."

"Really?"

"Yeah...but that's not the point of all of this. The point I'm trying to make, Kenny, is I'm sorry. I won't push you like that again. I can see that you're stressed, and I hate that I'm the cause of it. We can pretend it never happened and go back to who we normally are." Kailyn finally let out a relieved sigh from her rapid-fire rant and walked forward, giving Kenny a quick, tight hug that the teen remained limp for as his brain comprehended everything that Kailyn just threw at him. She pulled back and gave him a near-bittersweet smile, "You're going to make a girl very happy someday soon, Kenny. I know it, and if you ever need any advice or anything, don't hesitate to ask. Okay?"

"Okay..." Kenny nodded back, waiting a few extra seconds as he held a gaze on the girl, "Is it my turn to talk now?"

"Oh, yes, of course. Please, tell me anything you're thinking. I'd prefer for everything to be out in the open."

"Great." Kenny brought a hand up, cupping the side of Kailyn's head while he pushed in for a kiss. The college girl let out a surprised hum, her body went on pins and needles, but she did nothing to halt the advance in the slightest. Kenny was still beyond the stages of taking the kiss further or knowing how to lead it properly, but it was more than enough for him to make his point. After a few moments, he broke away and warmly looked at Kailyn, "Everything out in the open?" Kalyn silently nodded back, "I don't think I want to go back to what we were before."

"But...JJ a-and..."

"I know...I really shouldn't be thinking like this, but last night was...incredible, Kai. It was my first everything with someone, and I couldn't have imagined it going better. Yeah, I know I always talked about Rachel, but I was being honest last night; I behaved around you so you didn't think I was a creep or something. How could you ever think I didn't find you attractive, Kai?"

"I don't know," Kailyn coyly answered, giving her lip a nervous chew, "I had a lot of fun with you last night."

"Me too, probably more than you realize." Kenny softly chuckled,

"So you're saying you wouldn't mind having some more?"

"I'm more asking if you're up for that."

"Yes." The answer came in a second, with not a single moment of hesitation on Kailyn's end.

Kenny lowered his head, giving a breathy laugh of uncertainty, "Okay...didn't know if I'd get this far, still kinda flying blind." He admitted, "Do we...make a plan or something? Maybe go out this week once we're free from the cabin?"

Kailyn let out a soft whine and pout, "Later this week?"

"Y-Yeah?" Kenny tilted his head, "Did you have something different in mind?"

Kailyn abruptly shot a hand forward, taking a gripping hold of Kenny's crotch that made the teen give a slight jump, "Oh!"

"I should probably let you know now; I'm not great with patience or self-control when I want something." Kailyn's brow gave a slight bump, "I hope that doesn't scare you."

"Not at all; I just didn't want to be forward."

"No, no, please...be forward, Kenny. That's exactly what I want." Kailyn breathed back.

"Yeah? Alright..." Kenny put a hand on Kailyn's hip, backing her up until she was pressed against the fridge while his lips pushed back against hers.
