Chapter 23

What's next?
Calm before the storm
Lindsay stepped out of the house into the backyard and pulled out her vape. Sighing she let it take a bit of the edge off as she stared out into the forest in the distance. The meeting had her stunned, self reflective even. Pulling out her phone she called Riley. The phone began ringing for a bit and she suddenly felt anxious. What if she was changed? What if that asshole had gotten to her? What did he do to her? What would she do?
"Oh hey! Sorry I thought you'd be longer so was having a bath!" Riley's cheery voice giggled through the phone. Lindsay sighed. Fuck this was going to be what her thoughts would be like now weren't they?
"Yeah it got cut short." Lindsay moved the phone from her mouth and sighed. The scare took all her words from her mind and she just stood listening to her ragged breathing on the phone. "I miss you."
Another giggle, "Shut up! It's been like two hours, Linds. You just heard your cute girlfriend is naked and wet and wanna play nice."
Lindsay smiled, feeling some normalcy again. "Hey can I ask a favor?"
"You can try."
"Take your time. Don't answer the door and if you need anything call me and I will take care of it." She didn't want to freak Riley out, "You deserve some time off from the world. Let me spoil you."
A bemused scoff came through the phone, "Damn. They teach you how to be a proper romantic at that meeting? What has gotten into you?" Oh shit she was suspicious! "I like it!" Oh good.
"Just enjoy that time off and do that life detox thing you were mentioning you wanted to try. I will be your link to the outside world if you need it."
A sensual purr rang in her ear, "I need you." Lindsay blushed and checked to make sure nobody was around. Before she could gather her wits her girlfriend gasped, "Oh this is perfect! A new novel by M. Park just came out! If you could grab it on the way home I'd love to relax at home and read it. If it's not too much trouble."
Lindsay smiled sadly. Riley was such a gem. A happy bundle filled with the spark of life even after the girl's tough experiences. Her father's ****, her barely escaping a **** a couple of years back but living with the scars of the man's sexual harassment. Riley didn't hate men, Lindsay really didn't know how after everything, but the girl really didn't trust them. Even friendly interactions you could see her uncomfortable but pleasant.
Lindsay on the other hand just liked the fairer sex. She thought she was bi for most her life until she tried dating some guy named Max. He tried to give off this fake image but it wasn't hard to see through it. He was strange and regrettably she slept with him. She was drunk and it wasn't for her. It just felt wrong and she didn't enjoy it at all.
That's when she met Riley. They had class together and quickly became friends. And one night while out at the club Lindsay was curious why Riley had been turning down so many guys that regularly came onto her. Most women went to the club for that attention. They got drunk. They kissed as they danced. Typical drunk girl things. An audience egging them on was also a typical drunk girl thing.
But that was a one time thing. Until a week later Riley sat down with her for coffee and just let it out, "You said you were bi right?" Lindsay had nodded. "So do you just not like me?" She continued to let out this outburst of frustration she didn't know how to contain. Her new friend was hard crushing on her it seemed. It was that moment Lindsay knew she just wasn't into guys.
What stayed with the cute brunette from these experiences was deep anxiety. The fear of being too much, or of being a bother to the world. Lindsay at times had to remind her she didn't need to apologize just for existing. Lindsay smiled sadly, "Nothing is too much for you."
They said their goodbyes and Lindsay left the Mansion. She didn't drive. Parents didn't exactly talk to her currently. Not after they found out who she was dating anyway. So her car was taken away "as punishment". All she got now from them were occasional messages from her mother politely asking her to be straight so Lindsay could let them all be a family again.
She balled her fist. It's so fucked up how you think you know someone for your entire life. And trust them. Then...everything just changes. They had never had a problem with people who weren't straight. In fact they were supportive to everyone else. But when it was their daughter...it was suddenly different rules.
Walking to the Wholesale market she heard a strange sound from an alley. The athletic blonde regretted peeking in.
An incredibly curvy Asian woman was going wild, clothes in complete disarray, fucking the living hell out of some guy. The blonde normally would be worried and spook them, afraid the woman was being **** but seeing the expression and the leverage the woman had in their position...it was the guy that would have been ****. He was loving it though. His perverted paws rubbing and squeezing the porcelain beauty. Lindsay watched for a moment in awe. The woman was so sexy and honestly as much as dick didn't do it for her she had to admit seeing the woman in such bliss was too hot to turn away from.
Lindsay felt hot. Her thighs clenching together. She felt herself moisten and sighed softly. Shaking her head she pulled away from the woman's sensual gravitational field and hastily entered the store. The blonde felt herself panting. Images of that dick spearing the beauty kept popping in her head.
Snapping out she realized her body had autopiloted to the books and she found herself face to face with the book she sought. Scoffing at the title and blushing. In bold blue letters the cover read, "Revelations: Loss of control". She was plenty in control. People get distracted here and there. Hell she bet most ppl would have kept watching. Wait why was she trying to prove a point to a book?
Waiting in line her grip on the gift tightened. She felt her wetness. A reminder of what was still happening. The temptation to check. To investigate. Was she a victim of a spell? Was Lindsay supposed to look into events like these now? Talk with her? Reassure her everything would be fine...kiss her....mhmm. Wait! Lindsay shook her head and noticed the line was waiting on her. Blushing she slammed the book down on the scanner and threw too much cash at the cashier before hastily skipping out of the store without change.
Fuck she needed to leave. These thoughts were invasive. If it was that book maybe the woman really did have a gravitational pull. The more she stuck around the more likely she would find out. Walking at a brisk pace she made her way to Riley's house. Their house.
